This is classic Lawwell and Celtic board. Announce we are interested in him days before the AGM, then suggest we will invite him up to have a look at him. At which point something will come up and the deal will fall through. Your right, this is a player who is genuine quality. Though he may actually coming up to look at us, rather than vice versa.

Lawwell promised us quality in June and we get Wanyama and Bangura, if this goes through I will be delighted, but we just seem to * about when it comes to signing players that I wont hold my breath.

We still need to hunt down a centre back as well.

after birmingham decided against the 2 year option on him, what choice did he have

he was supposedly on trial with us for a few days and 2 days later he's in advanced talks with everton about resigning

if it looks like * and smells like * then its *

he might have signed for us untill he heard we were offering him a tuppence and hapenny

and if he turns round and signs for us it will be a short term deal because we cant afford premiership players wages

Everton are more skin than us. They signed like 1 player in the summer on a free. They are poor and we could offer jsut as good a wage. Can we offer him better football? Doubtful

I'm not one to panic no matter how painfully brutal it is watching our team struggle to put a performance together...Lenny's right,we have a squad that are capable of winning this league...for the players it's just a matter of a bit of soul searching and getting the finger oot,for the management it's trying to find that right combination and using the FULL squad of players at their disposal....sooner rather than later!
Faddy would be a handy man to have around and i'd welcome him with open arms but we do have the players to win this league.

Your right about the defence bit socbhoy, I am embarased that they baw bags across the toon, with no money, hingin by a baw hair, can always manage to pick up decent centre halfs, look at the level we have got ........ big Maj, Loovens, Rogne, Mulgrew, Hoiveldt, Josh Thompson, O'Dea, undecided yet about Wilson, but you wouldn't get a bag of baloons for them all put together. Maybe I am being harsh, but I don't think so.
