changing managers mid season never works, itsb etter to give him until the end of the season, if we win nothing we will have time to find a new manager

MON and Moyes wouldn't entertain the prospect.

Martinez rejected Aston Villa, he's hardly going to want to come to Celtic.

Levein doesn't exactly get the pulse racing at all.

Craig Brown is making an absolute howling * of it up at Aberdeen.

I'm not keen on Levein either.

I am reassured that people are not bleating on about "We are all Neil Lennon" anymore. I would love Lenny to succeed at being a manager and after what he went through with us last season I would love him to succeed with us. I hope that now he is faced with a bit of pressure from his own support for a change he will step it up a gear because we really have stagnated this season. Maybe in the long run it will be a good thing to get some stick from the support so he knows he can't rely on being "like me and you he hates Rangers too". I mean this subconsciously because he comes across as too intelligent and determined a guy to simply sit back and be happy with adulation whilst not achieving anything.

Injuries, loss of form and poor tactical decisions have cost us but at the same time you have to say the players have cost us as well with stupid red cards in the big matches. Majstorovic against Sion, Mulgrew against the dark side and now Commons. The ingame substitutions and tactical tweaks are something that any manager has to learn with experience and the players are not helping by getting sent off and totally messing up the game plans. In saying that though Lennon definitely needs to improve his substitutions. If things aren't going our way he doesn't seem to know what to do, and if we are losing going into the last ten minutes, it is a foregone conclusion that we will lose, usually by another goal because we have left hardly anyone back.

The strangest thing is how unmotivated the players seem. It is in complete contrast to last season when we were going out and dominating games against Rangers, especially the 2-0 game. We won that match through such sheer determination and will power, and dominated the 2-2 cup tie, that we had already beaten them in the 3-0 game, if that makes sense. The Rangers team knew they couldn't match us before that game even kicked off. We need that spirit back.

Oh aye Gunt, this is the same wee man, who used to stand and make jokes, when Celtic got beat or drew with lesser teams. It used to turn my stomach, that a Celtic manager had the audacity to stand there, thinking he was a comedian, when his team had just had their * felt. Never forget either this was the same wee cretin, who said he would never sign for Celtic, when big stein tried to get him from Dundee.

why the * are we arguing about mon+strachan, we've got a problem here now in the present, no need to who was better manager from yesteryear. lennon has to go. simple as that. now i know this celtic team are not the greatest, but to play like that, with no heart, no passion is a * disgrace. i can take defeat and players playing * at times, but that display was shocking, now i'm not slagging of the team for there footballing skills, but that lethargic halfarsed display tells me theres somthing very wrong behind displays like that. only, what? 1/4 way into the season, and this team has basicly chucked it. lennon can stand there and blame who the * he wants. but this whole team has no motovation, no grit and no * respect for the fans who pay there wages. when was the last time you seen any of this squad run himself into the ground for his team. NEVER.

OK Brown is maybe pushing it a bit (and he could die at any moment!!) What I really am getting at is we need a superorganised tactical training ground manager with tons of experience. The sort of guy WGS was. Not literally WGS. I think Levein would be great for us because he is that type of manager and probably the best of his type who realistically might come. I dont want a personality manager with a fancy football philosophy or a Celtic man. IMO the problem is Levein should have been appointed 2.5 years ago when WGS left.

I'm inclined to agree with you pal. I love Lenny to death, but he's just no cuttin it. We're losing games we should be winning and he doesn't seem to know the answer. Our defence is.... Hang! What defence?
Maybe bringing in MON to advise him could be the answer, but I'm seriously not enjoying watching Celtic this season.

Fergus McCann came in and bought Celtic in 1994 and that got rid of the old board i believe.

who cares. He achieved stuff that now seems a distant dream. I am sure Jock Stein and Dalgleish were pretty anti Celtic when they were wee lads. WGS did more than we could possibly have hoped for in his time with us. As I said, noone other than Stein has had a better 3 year period in our history than WGS's first three seasons.

i remember watching a program on the telly about celtic. and during an interview with bertie auld, he came out with a simple quote, ' WHEN YOU PULL ON THAT CELTIC JERSEY, IT MAKES YOU FEEL 10 FEET TALL'. and that tells you everthing between then and know.

So we keep on saying we cant change a manager in mid season !!!! - well how many more defeats, draws etc and how many points is it acceptable to be behind our biggest rivals.

The Mighty Ayr United beat hearts. St Johnstone beat Hearts last week...so what does that say about us or Neil Lennon as a manager or tactics. and yesterday one of the worst sides in the league Hibs narrowly lost by a single goal. Yet we lost FOUR....So how many more seasons is it acceptable to finish 2nd or this year 3rd or 4th.

That old chestnut is always thrown out. He has done pretty well since then. Everyone struggles to get Scotland winning. Its a * of touch ask.

Levein is the correct mentality. He is hard headed, no nonsense and tactical and had a good eye for a player too when he was manager of Hearts and Dundee United. I am just delighted Rangers didnt get him. He is a good manager. He just hasnt had a shot at the only two jobs in Scottish football where silverware is going to happen on a regular basis. Whatever, he has a lot in his locker after a lot of experience and we would be getting him as a guy with about 12 years of experience in management at a good level and who has earned his stripes.

    Precisely.

Craig Levein would be a * nightmare. I'd take Strachan back before I'd let Levein near the Celtic dugout.

I am still sticking by Neil Lennon. He's got to do better but I believe he can and am hopeful that he will.

Supertactical? Same guy who thinks Gary Kenneth is an international, yet doesnt feel that Charlie Mulgrew merits a place in the squad.

A manager who pretty much consigned us to another failed qualification with wrong tactics against Lithuania and the Czechs.

A manager who showed how hard headed he was by begging McGregor and Ferguson to come back to play despite being given a life ban. And then falling out with Fletcher (the one striker we have who is doing well in the EPL).

Yeah, no baggage with this guy is there.

And what stripes has he earned. What trophies has he won?
