Well done everyone bar Samaras for obvious reasons aka he is * terrible. Another night we would have scored a few more their keeper saved them tonight.

Tonight was Victor Wanyama's coming of age in a Celtic jersey. The big man never put a foot wrong all night and was very consistent in his tackling, apart from that one reckless lunge where he deservedly got the yellow. His physical style and presence suit the SPL very well. I've got a feeling he'll become an important player for us over the years, as he's still a young lad.

Overall, I'm disappointed with the end result, but I didn't think we could have asked any more of the players. Second string or not, they are still a top Serie A side and their youth system is more impressive than anything we here in Scotland have. We were still up against some great players tonight, future stars of Italian football.

Other special mentions obviously must go to Forrest, Ki, Bangura, Ledley, Mulgrew, Matthews and Majstorovic. I was really surprised at how well he did out there tonight. What a difference having Charlie in central defence makes.

Pish result IMO. First half I thought they were terrific, second half went into usual mode and paid the penalty. (excuse the pun) Getting boring with this trend.
Sammy was an absolute embarrassment when he came on.
Thought Hooper was immense but still unconvinced about Bangura. Why the * he moved Mathews to the right to allow Wilson to go to the left is beyond me.

Exactly my thoughts, Wanyana was excellent tonight, put himself about, never gave a ball away all night, passed it well, covered the back four well, always looked composed, great euro debut from the kid.:50:

Did noone see sammy put a goal on a silver platter and hooper * it and Ki force the keeper into a great save from the same pass? So if another player converts a chance he created, he'd be praised, but due to the fuckup of another player (Hooper) he's gonna get stick?

Some of the stuff was excellent at times tonight but i think we played within our self 2nd half we should have pushed on more we let them back into the game tonight.

This was a Udinese b side tonight 8 big hitters missing feel we could regret not getting the job done tonight .

nobody is abusing sammy because of the chance that hooper missed, and ki hit .. that was good work by him .. we're moaning about him doing the most ridiculous 1-2's with hooper in the history of football.

children at 5 years old know that when your infront of goal with no-one ahead, then go for the goal. why the * would you 1-2 your possesion into an attack, back into a * uselss territory???

our penalty was a stone waller ... theirs was not. come on to * .. with their diving it was only a matter of time before they got the penalty.

we done better, but we can do better yet .. and whatever lennon is saying to them at half time .... ISNT WORKINGG!!!!!

Old school mate and the most effective IMO.

All this squad rotation nonsense is unsettling and just not working.

I hope Lenny sees sense now and sticks with it.:shamrock:

Proud of the team effort and performance. We were easily the better team tonight, particularly in the first half, we took the game right to them which is what we needed to do to set the tone, and with the early penalty it got us off to a great start.

IMO it was never a penalty to them, and we deserved to take maximum points from the game, so in that sense we were really hard done by, but the team played great which is most important.

    Well done you

the guy comes on for * 20 minutes screws up 1 pass, which he should have stopped controled, looked up, yet you are more or less blaming his performance??? well done every 1 else who has posted positive stuff.... sammy and loovens are celtic fans scapegoats and they will never ever improve unless they get backed!!! so instead of * moaning about sammys 1 * up in the game get behind him!!!! And get behind the team................... The guy only came on the park and misplaced a pass

He,s not my favourite or the best either but am sick of him getn blamed for everything this team does:38:

:50: he could have come on and not touched the ball and he would have still been blamed!

It was a decent performance, just didn't create enough chances.

No point in pointing the finger at Samaras but I do think Lenny is trying to prove a point with him and it is not working out.

well i thought we started brilliantly first 15mins got the goal

then it looked to me like we became conservative and played within ourselves for the rest of the night

we still could have got goal or 2 but after scoring the penalty i think we handed the innitiative to udinese and always thought there was a good chance they would get a goal

dissapointed but much better performance than we have had for a while

2 centre backs were excellent mathews was excellent 1st half i was a bit dissapointed he was moved to left back ut he did do a solid job there

wanyama was excellent, ki for me seems to have went off the boil a bit he's capable of so much more i beleive, kayal was average i thought,

hooper and bangura showed up well and forrest was ok

i thought we could have won this one if we had been a little braver though :(

Think we deserved more than just 1 point tonight, but that's football.

If it wasn't for their keeper and a dodgy penalty we would have won. We certainly can build on that performance tonight.

    Decent performance.
We're just far too nervous, in every area of the pitch. Too many people passing instead of shooting up the top and defenders doing dodgy backpasses instead of just booting it clear.

Let's not forget we never deserved to be in this competition, all these games are is a chance for few thousand bhoys to go visit some nice places not too far away and hopefully see a couple good Celtic goals/performances as well.
Plus a couple more million in the pot, so that we can hopefully get the type of players who are good enough to take us back to the top in Scotland and Europe.
