Is there any gasmen on here or anyone know much about boilers?

Heres my problem anyway: I have turned on my heating tonight and everything is fine, the heating is working away but when i go to put the hot water on the pilot light goes out. The hot water stays on for about 10 secs then goes cold as the pilot llight goes out! Once the hot water is turned off the pilot goes back on. Nightmare not having any hot water

I have a sabre combi boiler!

Spoken to a gas engineer, and without checking, he reckons could be either cuircut board not sending signal or diverting valve fecked, reckons 150 to 200 to fix mate, hope this helps:50:

It could be a thermister (temperature sensor) which is faulty if it can't sense what temperature the hot water is then the PCB will shut off the boiler, the central heating has a separate one so that explains why your central heating is working, hopefully that's what it is because they only cost £10-£20, if it's the divertor valve or the PCB then you're talking about £100 fitted for a new valve or if it's the PCB around £200, maybe a bit cheaper if that boiler has a separate DHW PCB and the main board is ok.
