Mulgrew captain material?

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by Leone Naka Fan, Sep 22, 2011.

  1. I was thinking the same thing when I watched him last night... he was talking LOTS!

  2. I can talk

  3. He's got the leadership qualities, that's for sure.

Would like to see a very long run of games with him at centre-back, with a stable partner. If he completely proves himself, which I think he will - then I don't see why he can't captain us.

  4. He could be captain but aslong as he's in the team thats good enough!

Him and Stokes are probably my favourite players, two guys you could go for a pint with and get a good laugh and quality players.

  5. Nah not for me. Broony or Kayal for captain.

  6. if we were to change captain? then i would rather have kayal tbh.

  7. Charlie Mulgrew Celtic captain... I'll tell the jokes from now on.:56:

  8. I don't mind Brown as captain now, but I think Mulgrew may be a future captain. Seems really eager to make sure we win every game.

  9. Definitely not, he left the team with 10 men when we were a goal behind. Plus he doesn't have a guaranteed place in first team.

Anybody would be better than Brown, but I don't think Mulgrew is the answer.

  10. I don't know about being Celtic skipper but I was impressed again with Mulgrew last night. He was well up for the game on what was a miserable night of weather. One of our better players on the night. But to be fair to Kayal who was wearing the armband I thought he was our man of the match and like Mulgrew showed a great appetite for the game despite it being an unattractive fixture on a miserable midnight week of weather.

Maybe in a season or so, wouldn't give him it so soon after that moronic sending off at the weekend. Was so obviously a sending off that no one (except one paranoid eejit who got shot down by everyone on here) complained about it, how often does that happen in games against them

  11. I must be a paranoid eejit then :56:

It's a sad day when Ally McCoist can admit it wasn't a booking and he won the ball but Celtic supporters can't.

  12. I think he could make captain in a season or 2 if he continues the way he is going

  13. Noticed this last night as soon as he was slotted into defence he bossed it, told them what to do. And lead by example

  14. Brooney>Kayal>Mulgrew>Wilson>>Ledley>Maj>K.Wilson.

Thats how I would have it.

  15. Possibly in the future but atm i prefer kayal to be captain.

  16. There's no way the captains armband should get anywhere near Kayals arm. I absolutely love the guy and love wathcing his combative style of play but he can barely speak a word of english. He can use his style of play to inspire others without needing the armband.

I reckon Brown should have it(although i don't actually think he should be in the first team when everyones fit but that's another issue). Wilson behind Brown then Mulgrew behind him.

  17. Mulgrew>Brown>M.Wilson>Kayal

  18. kayal, mulgrew, wilson. that order.

  19. its got to be Charlie or Kayal and while Kayal is not a native speaker you see him giving orders to players and diging into them. They both lead by example. Brown has almost everything I desire in a captain except he is not nearly one of the first names i would put on the team sheet in terms of skill.
