For selfish reasons I would rather he stayed because he is a great option off the bench when we're struggling, e.g motherwell this season.

The truth is though, he isn't good enough to be a regular starter. We have Forrest, Commons, Sammy who are all much, much better options than him, the there is broony aswell, who will quite rightly take his place in the 11. If it's first team football he's looking for, he will be better looking elsewhere...

I hope that he does leave. He is my favourite player and he needs to play football. I hope that he does well also and then shows Celtic and Lennon what they have let go.

I think that he is a brilliant player and he should get more game time. This fitness thing is totally out of proportion, I have never seen him blow out his * at any time.

I wish he would stay but the fact we have brought in a player in a similar mold then he must be off as his chances will be even more limited.

Thanks for the memories Paddy and I hope you ram the decision not to play and keep you down Celtics throat!

I really like McCourt and no doubt he has skill but then we have also other options at the moment on form. He has his part to play and i hope he stays cause even squad players has their part to play.

this is a team game, not an individual one. if he is to get more game time, it'll have to be elsewhere. there's far too many players higher in the pecking order due to their performances. who would you drop?

personally, i wish every decision Celtic make, would be the correct one. strange how some put the player before the club.

    probably the most balanced post regarding McCourt;

the only thing that could sway me into selling is the price.

Happy to keep him if he is going to get some supersub appearances. If not then not much point in keeping him if we get a decent offer of 750,000+

Kris Commons is higher in the pecking order, both to the manager and to many posters on this board, after having done nothing the entire season bar getting sent off.

So in answer to you're question; I'd drop Commons, give wee, been run to ground and looking exhausted, James Forrest a rest, and have Paddy given a run.

At times we huff and puff in games with to many passes going across the park.
Paddy is one of the few players in the squad who can unlock doors and make things happen.Would love to see him being given a chance to play just behind Stokes and Hooper.
    Paddy must stay!!

Commons was one of our best players last season and he only played half a season. he has had his injuries this season and deserves a little more slack, mate. if he is on form, he is by far our best winger at the club. quite frankly, you're being a bit disrespectful to Commons.

if Commons gets dropped, Samaras will get a game because he deserves it - and that's coming from a man who doesn't rate Samaras due to his inconsistencies, but that's a different matter. Brown would step in for Forrest - again, it's up to debate why, again a different matter. Ledley would be moved onto the wing if he wasn't getting a game in the middle because he is one of our better players and deserves to fit in somewhere in our strongest line-up.

in all honesty, i'd rather give McGeouch or Ibrahim a run out and get some game time than play McCourt.

that's five, six or seven players ahead of McCourt and in my eyes it's completely justified. all offer a better all-rounder qualities that McCourt can't and more importantly they've all hit form. has it not dawned on you why he doesn't get a game and why under three managers he has never been a mainstay in the team?

if he is ok on being a bit-part player, then it's ok with me. if a bid comes in of over £1m, i'll bite their hand off.

The previous poster was right about Commons though, you just don't like arguments for Paddy getting a go. Last season was last season and yes, you could say that Paddy was better last season too but Commons has done very little when he's played this year.

It's far too early to say that Mc Geouch is better than Paddy, only time will tell.

Brown is guaranteed his place as captain, doesn't mean he always deserves to be selected.

Samaras is going well at the moment but in some ways he is the complete opposite of Paddy-he must have one of the worst first touches at the club but fair play to him he's proving his worth at the moment. I still don't think he's a winger though.

But that's only my opinion. I rate Paddy highly and you don't want to see him in the team- we'll never agree .

"in all honesty, i'd rather give McGeouch or Ibrahim a run out and get some game time than play McCourt. "

Next you'll be saying that Twarzik is better than Paddy:56:

I'm not judging Commons on his ability or potential, rather his form this season which is the standard by which you have judged Paddy.

My response of course was that Commons has had an absolutely appalling season with not a single decent performance to his name, call that disrespectful if you will, but it's the truth. Paddy has struggled this season with injury too, however he did play against Peterhead, competently, setting up a goal with an absolutely world class display of ball control for the Samaras pass.

Therefore, at this moment in time, Paddy is ahead of Commons in the pecking order, based on form alone, a standard which you set. And with Forrest desperately needing a rest after playing in practically every game this season, Paddy should have a run of a few games in the least, with wee Dylan as second-pick, coming on for a few sub appearances in the subersub "Paddy role".
