    I thought Mulgrew was awesome.

He bitched Reyes and Diego. Like properly bitched them. A 24 year old Bosman from Aberdeen.

I thought Forrest played well. He stuck out from the crowd for me. I thought Kayal was poor by his standards.

Also thought forrest apart from one good run, didn't offer enough on the right side and also didn't really give m.wilson good enough protection against turan who really ran wilson a bit ragged at times.

Loovens was the stand out performer for me.

Totally agree, baffling that someone thought he was rubbish, probably his best game in a long time. Though saying that i think there were a lot of good performances tonight, especially from those that are often under scrutiny.

Best I've seen Sammy play in 6 months, almost felt like he was wasted on the left. Hooper was, as expected, anonymous up front by himself. Even felt like Sammy was searching for passes rather than blindly running, though he did once or twice. If Lennon is going to bother playing sammy it might as well be up front.

Forrest showed flickers of his brilliance but Mulgrew was phenomenal. What an asset he is. No matter what position he plays.

I'm not going to choose a MOTM because to be honest we weren't exactly inspirational. We just got off a lot easier than most thought we would. But I do want to give a special mention to Sammy simply because there were * in the pub booing him as soon as he appeared in the line up on tv at the start of the match. Disgraceful. Sang Ooh Ahh Samaras all night just to get it up them. *.

What game were you watching?! Big Samaras was brilliant last night! I think he made one bad pass and that was it. His touch was great, he got back to help defend as much as he could despite being a forward, he made some good passes and made some excellent runs with and without the ball. He was chopped down a few times because Atl Madrid realised he was a threat. He was excellent last night. He always plays well away from home in Europe, probably because he can't hear the Celtic supporters give him abuse. I love the big guy and I was delighted when he signed a new contract because he is so valuable in games like this.

I thought Kayal played well in the majority of the game but there were 2 occasions when he picked the ball up on the edge of their box with Hooper at his side. He tried to play Hooper in twice. The first time he played the ball behind Hooper and gave their keeper time to come out and take the ball and the second time Kayal took too long to play the ball and was closed down. If he had been a bit sharper last night Celtic could have scored twice or at least had 2 goal scoring opportunities.

Mulgrew, Ki, Ledley, Forrest, Forster, Sammy, Kayal (for the majority of the game) and Loovens were excellent. I honestly think if we can build on this game, get players like Brown and Stokes back to full fitness and Bangura up to speed, we have a decent shout at progressing to the knock out stages where we will also have Emilio back! Let's get behind the team at Celtic Park, get those 3 game packages and enjoy 3 massive European nights at home.
