O'Shea is now out for Tuesday as well so that means O'Dea is pretty certain to start at center back alongside Dunne with Foley must likely in at right back now.
Not very optimistic going into this one. We simply didn't get a hold of the ball and play against Slovakia and it's hard to see us getting away with that in Moscow. If we are to have any chance our midfield must actually show up and get a hold of the ball and keep it for spells. Duff was the only one who showed up on Friday. Maybe McGeady will be motivated to put on a show being based in Moscow. But the key is central midfield. We all know Trapattoni will pick both Whelan and Andrews. They both were absolutely lost against Slovakia. They cannot happen against Russia or it will be a long night.

    Russia will pump them.

Thought Ireland were awful the other night and Russia battered them the last time they played (3-1 was it ?). The midfield just isn't good enough.

Ahh I see. Can't see there being 5 goals in this one right enough. Ireland will try to keep it tight.

The midfield could be better if trap allows it but his stubborness wont allow it. Sickening really that better players are being kept out of the side because he insists on playing Whelan and Andrews.

Cant see us being pumped, our tactics were horrible in the 3-2 game and Trap admitted it after. I think he will know exactly what to do this time round, I have faith.

Even though i disagree with Trappatonis awful football, this team is set up for away games so I can see us getting a result in Moscow. Will be hard to watch but the pure negative tactics will probably work. Don`t mind the team being set up like this to get results away from against stronger teams but Trap needs to realise he has to be more positive at home. Does it not remind you of Strachans Celtic team?

0-1 win for us with the goal coming from a set piece

would love to see mccarthy get a chance, but i'm not holding my breath. i can see mcgeady being dropped for hunt as well, as trappatoni will want to be more defensive, which i think would be a mistake especially in russia where mcgeady will be looking to impress. whoever plays- hopefully sneak a win.

Trap has already stated McGeady will keep his place.

Scotland were one of the most in form teams in international football at the time. We were in the middle of about a 60 place jump in the rankings. If I remember right McLeish won 7 out of 10 games, and considering he lost the last two I make that he was in the middle of a run of 7 wins out of 8 games. No Scotland fan expected to be pumped.

I expect France to pump Scotland just like most of the football world.

I expected France to pump Ireland just like most of the football world. But I was wrong we beat them over 90 minutes and if it wasn't for a ridiculous piece of cheating we would have went to South Africa.

I expected Italy to pump us but we drew with them twice. We are no mugs mate. We will give Russia a game.

As opposed to Ireland who have only lost 5 of their last 18 games including a win against Italy and have not conceded a goal in 6 games?
