If we somehow manage to beat them it will easily rank up with the Man United, Shaktar and AC Milan games. In fact due to it being away from home I would class it as our biggest European result since Boavista.

I genuinely cannot see how we will beat them, we are inexperienced and don't have anything like the firepower that they possess. Couple that with a shonky defence that is missing its best player and it doesn't look promising.

I think this will finish with a lot of goals, hopefully not a 4-0 or 5-0 rout to Atletico though.

I have a lot of faith in the team and know that they can at least get a draw, but I predict a 3-2 to Atletico.

I think Samaras is a cert to start up front on his own tonight. Got a feeling if he plays, he'll score. Hopefully Forrest plays as he was excellent v Motherwell and will be full of confidence, no fear at all. He could cause Atletico real problems with his pace and direct play..

Recent Celtic signing Mo Bangura is a major doubt for Thursday's Europa League Group I opener against Atletico Madrid after the striker picked up a groin strain. (Various)

Hope the bhoys play nice and calm and relaxed tonight. Just keep the ball as much as we can and pass it about, let them chase us. Too often away in Europe we dont see any of the ball and are ran into the ground panicking. It doesnt matter what happens with the score as long as the team can put on a nice showing for the fans ahead of pumping the scum on Sunday.

Paper saying he had a groin strain so rather than risk training last night told to rest. Will most likely be having a late fitness test about now.

Nothing official about team line up yet.
