Samaras and Maloney supposedly going for a combined total of £5m? I think I might cry tears of joy.............

Not a chance it'll be 5m if they go.

I agree that Maloney hasn't been as good as he was and that he is out injured alot. But there's no need to call him a wee *. It's no his fault we wanted him back. Ask any of the team who trains the hardest, who stays back in training to improve his game and the will tell you Maloney. He is also one of the few players that know what playing for celtic is all about.

If this move comes off then good luck Shaun and hope you can get back to your best!!

Equivalent to the lack of respect that a player picking up a years wages on the treatment table, getting fit again and then moving down south showed?

If we get £5million for the two of them then that's a good deal, if the replacements turn out to be better than them which hopefully they will, still doesn't solve our defensive issues though so I hope these aren't the only deals we are doing.

I'd imagine both Maloney and Samaras would be in the higher bracket of wages and the two new guys (if we sign them) will be on a lot lower thus freeing up some wages.

Maloney is never far away from another lengthy spell on the sidelines.

    Happy to see him go.

Was desperate to see him back when we needed him and I'm glad he came back at that time, however, it's time for him to move on from us, he's very injury prone but a quality player on his day still.

Add me to that list. The reaction on this thread is sickening but wouldn't expect anything less from te starter of the thread! We should be looking to get shot of McCourt over Maloney, Maloney may be injury prone but he still features alot more than McCourt, says it all really about McCourt.........

i don't want to see Maloney go either as i rate him highly. however, £2m is hard to argue against the case. has been a great servant for the club regardless of what happens and i wish him luck.

McCourt is so bad that no-one wants him. It seems he is Mark Burchill II; everyone thinks he's great because he hardly gets a game but if/when he finally does, they'll see the reasons he doesn't get a game.

So I've to lambast Izzaguire for something you think might happen? Very good.

I don't like the guy end of story. If you do then that's great, you can shed crocodile tears when we eventually get shot of him.

So you think Izzy will hang around then? If he's as good as we think then he'll be off, simples! Same with Kayal! At the end of the day, Maloney is taking a step up from us, sad but true!

CELTIC’S Aberdonian forward Shaun Maloney was today set to seal a move to the English Premier League.
Wigan have matched Celtic’s £2 million valuation of the Scotland striker, who will pen a deal.
Former Cults Academy pupil Maloney previously had a spell with Aston Villa in the top flight from 2007-08.
Celtic striker Georgios Samaras is also set to join Sunderland in a £3m deal before the transfer window shuts tomorrow.
Parkhead boss Neil Lennon will use the funds generated from the sale of Maloney and Samaras to make a double signing swoop.

No! He was disliked for not being able to score goals!

Not holding my breath for this and personally I would keep Maloney. Great player on his day, one of best and one who can produce a moment of magic!

As for Sami? Please, please, please :bbpd:
