What happens if we don't make another signing before the transfer window shuts ?

there is no way we would get 2 or 3 quality players, at the top of their game for 6/8 million at the crazy end of a transfer window. we could get 2 or 3 decent kids who can improve or 2 or 3 'oul lads whos careers are on the slide.

Lennon is doing great business, wilson for free, commons for 300k, ledley for free.

Hooper cost 2.5million from scunthorpe.

if you want an "experienced" striker who is good in the air and can get 20+ goals....thats 10million

a decent cb on top of his game.....thats 10million...

They obviously are in the market or the next couple of days would be irrelevant.

 

Obviously in an ideal world we would bring in a target man up front, another quality center back and possibly a left back. Reality is that likely is not going to happen at such a late stage. But given the shaky confidence of the team at the moment I think it is crucial we at least get in 1 real quality signing to give everyone a lift and improve the team before things resume after the international games next week.

 

If we sign only the one player, I expect to lose the League again and it's the board's fault because we all know what's needed and I'd assume Lennon will be the same.

 

I wouldn't read too much into that at all, the club won't be wanting to give anything away, they never do.

Re Ilunga, think this is lazy journalism oncve again, as we were linked with the lad a few years ago under WGS, but we'll see - reports of late have suggested he's a bombscare these days...
