Very good point. We are giving SPL and average European teams far too much respect. Playing 3 defensive minded midfielders is not how we will destroy teams.

No creativity in the midfield means no connection to the strikers. I'd even maybe play Paddy up front so you dont have to worry about his defensive frailties. Both Maloney and Forrest do track back but that doesnt matter cause if we arent using our full backs as wingers anymore then they dont need to as much.

Decent player IMO but too slow with the ball and tries to skin everyone and walk it into the net. Prefer not to drop Commons, Kayal, Brown, Ki, Ledley for him. If Maloney is getting a start though McCourt would be my choice before him.

    No impact sub.

If Hooper is fit i'd have both him and Stokes upfront, given their our only forward line combination with goals.

    Midfield of:

    Forrest –––––––––– Kayal –––––––––– Ledley –––––––––– Brown

He should definitely start - but not for us! When I heard Dalgleish was interested I e-mailed Lawell and offered to drive Paddy down to Liverpool myself for the medical.

there is a complete lack of creativity in our midfield and it irritates me, we seem to rely on Ki to creat things now, Brown isnt creative, Ledley is tidy rather than creative, Kayal can occasionally be creative but isnt really and Commons can score, but isnt creative either, our more creative players (McCourt, Maloney, Forrest) are all on the Bench.

At CP, i wanna see a mid of.......Forrest________Kayal______Ki_______McCourt

    never gonna happen though

he should start ahead of commons atm, commons hasnt been good, believes he has a permanent spot on the starting 11.
Needs to be shown he isnt unreplacable and then he might pull the finger out.

Yes give him a chance to start and impress finally then if he doesn't do it, Lenny is justified in his decision to just have him as a sub.

If Scott Brown is the first name on our team sheet, Paddy McCourt * SURE deserves a stab at a starting position.

I'm not saying he's a cert to hold one down, but he should be given a run of games. He never has been given that opportunity and it's absolutely beyond me why.

Nevermind Paddy's skill. If a few other Celts had his brain and vision, it would be a site to see him linking up with people. As it stands, Paddy has to do practically all himself. The way he combined with Maloney and nearly scored on Sunday, that's the way Celtic should be playing football.

Yes, for the time being but I would opt for him to be sold in the near future.

I like Paddy but he can be very frustrating to watch and IMO he is a one trick pony.

He runs with the ball takes on five players and scores but this is few and far between and apart from this, doesn't seem to have much versatility to his game in other areas. :shamrock:

Dont really see the attraction with paddy . clearly an impact player who has no real chance of becoming a regular starter , as for starting in sion , no chance we need 11 players who will get a result ,

I would play Forrest ahead of Paddy. Unless lenny was playign with 2 out and out wingers then maybe give him a chance. doubt Lenny would drop Brown though.
But all I know is Commons needs to be dropped. He is jsut not performing.

Away from home on Thursday, we should be starting 4-5-1...

I'll take pelters for it, but Samaras up top on his own, his game to stretch the back line, open gaps... and then have McCourt in behind him. Any four across the midfeild as standard.

    McCourt to start.

Commons is not on form, and he is not untouchable.

We also have a number of players out due to injury.

    It's Paddy Tme.

Commons has been played out of position which doesn't help his cause but why not. I'm a big fan of McCourts and think he deserves a chance based on the fact that we know he has the ability to open up defences and create chances for team mates and himself. And with Sion playing at home on Thursday you would expect them to open up and go for it, so why not fight fire with fire.

I still don't see why they don't play him. He never get's a good chance. We should play him right from the start against Sion.
