Europa League:- Celtic FC vs FC Sion

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by MacKinnon10, Aug 5, 2011.

  1. whats happenend to commons * this year so far , subbed again

  2. Only plus I can see is Lennon will have a better idea of how to play against them next time. No certainty we'll have Kayal or Hooper back, and while it'll be nice having Kelvin back, he'll not help us that much more.

I can see us just about getting through, though. Just.

  4. Well that was a shower of *:56:

  5. come on lads,

we had 4 very important players out, 3 of whom we could have for the 2nd leg

we pretty much dominated, even though we didn't score

they didn't get an away goal

Lenny and the bhoys will have a good understanding of them going into the 2nd leg

we won at home against utrecht last year 2-0, but still went out so it just shows you can never be sure what will happen

we turned it around when we LOST at home to dinamo moscow

even a score draw would send us through next week

    we are Celtic

    ILWT!

  6. FAO SammyBobo; You say the Swiss team is mediocre yet you also think such a "mediocre" team will put us out? Get to * with your negativity. Any excuse to have a pop at Celtic. * call yourself a fan?

  7. thought big dan did really well , as did ledley , ki our motm , commons worst game in the hoops sammy time to go mate

  8. What Else could stokes do?? He was playing wide LEFT!!! What was lennon thinking? But thats not the problem the problem is we have 2 good strikers AND NO OTHER STRIKERS WORTH MENTIONING. Were not out though, if kayal/hooper come back for second leg we have a chance. We would have pumped them tonight with a decent attack force and to whoever said brown played * must have watched the wrong game Cha, Ledley, brown, Ki, and forrest (even though he was sub) were our only good players and they gave 110% Mastorivich and Mulgrew were sceptical but put in a solid performance too.

  9. every game is a big game.

  10. only on for 5mins

  11. You don't see certain people at all and then when Celtic don't win they show up in numbers.

  12. and those who stayed home get to do it on here ? atleast they made the effort to go along

some people paid good money to watch that tonight they are well within there right to show how frustrated they are :31:

  13. :50:
    well said bud...we shall provale.

  14. We didn't play how we could have and should have played and was frustrating as *. Sion obviously just tried to play the Hun FC way - defend and try and catch us on the break. They were set up to frustrate us and it worked. The final ball just wasn't there tonight and some of the passing was really sloppy.

Was all set up wrong from the start in my opinion with Stokes playing out wide and leaving Samaras up front on his own. Stokes wasn't even in it when he was moved back into his normal position. Seemed lost a bit without Hooper maybe? McCFourt came on FAR too late in the match to make any sort of difference as well and I think it would have been better to take Samaras off for McCourt and keep Stokes on. And I don't know why Wilson was playing on the left and Mulgrew in the middle. Would it not have been better right from the start to play Mulgrew on the left and Wilson in the center, who is more natural in the center than left back.

I think we'll need to put it down as a bad day at the office BUT the plus side is that they bunch of foulers never got an away goal and we have EVERY chance of getting away goals next week. Yeh it would have been much better to go there with a comfy lead but we need to try and keep positive here and look at humping them over there. I would even take just a 1-0 win, as long as we get into the group stages.

Lennon got the tactics wrong tonight but it should be a learning curve for him and should learn by the mistakes. HOPEFULLY learn by the mistakes anyway :icon_mrgreen:

Keep The Faith and let's get the win we need to get us into the group stages :ynwacelti

  15. agree paddy should have been on earlier. but sammy wasnt that bad tonight if someone had got on to some of his knockdowns. stokes was on the left wing for half the game ffs. and does brown wear slippers???? every pass he made was short. Paddy 5 minutes ........... Brown 90mins.......

  16. This is ridiculous. Yes he may very well "win balls in the air" but what does the * do with them? * all. When the ball is on the deck Mr. Confidence * around playing for an invisible 3rd team who nobody else knows about :56:

  17. * it......im off to watch JEDWARD go into the Big Brother house.....thatll cheer me up

  18. Bullshit. They are lucky enough to get to these kinda games. I'm sick with jealousy at the thought of people watching Celtic at Parkhead. It's disgusting when our players get abuse from our own "fans" and yes, I know its the minority :50: Hail Hail

    Keep The Faith

  19. No im not joking, fair enough he wins ball, holds up play........... but more often then not he then makes the wrong pass, turns wrong way or holds it up too long that he takes the momentum out of our attack, frustrates the * out of me. We need a big man whos more direct and robust.

Simmer down now....it's only a game.

You are obviously deliriously happy with our stunning performance ?
