Only problem I forsee with Ledley on the left and Brown on the right is that neither player is naturally a wide player.

I don't think I've ever seen a manager use such a "central" formation with essentially 4 central midfielders on the park. Really interesting.

As cool a thought as it is, I can't see Lennon digressing from his usual 4-4-2. Probably a midfield of

    Brown.....Kayal....Ledley...
    ..................................Commons

Ki must play in both legs. I don't care how much dirty work Ledley does, we need a creative midfielder in the middle of the park. Players like Ki can win you games in Europe.

Brown and Commons on the flanks aren't going to get to the byline routinely, so we need Ki in the middle to dictate the flow of the game.

Can also see Forrest making a big impact off the bench in the last half hour against tired opponents who won't be expecting him.

Really looking forward to this, think at home we could score 2-3 and away if we sit 4-5-1 well do well on the break.

i might get shot down for this but we need to make sure we are switched on at defending and dont take this team lightly.

it wouldnt be the 1st time we got kicked out on our * by a smaller team

not to mention just about everywhere else in the world plays a better standard of football than our pishy untechnical essspppllll league

if we treat them right and don't underestimate them and are switched on then we should beat them and that will do me

i wanna see us get back to one and two touch passing and moving fast attacking football like we used to play

People who are suggesting dropping Ledley and Stokes are on some serious, mind bending, drugs.

I'd level the same accusation against people who are arrogant enough to believe that Celtic can just turn up and play 442 in Europe.

Fair point away from home, think we should be confident enough at home for a 4-4-2. but even then going by recent form hoops should be dropped.

There is nothing wrong with playing 4-4-2 at home. Other teams do it. Its our strongest line-up and thats the one the players are used to.

At this moment Ki starts before Ledley for me. Ki has a better footballing brain. Kayal and Brown can do the graft. Stokes must start. Stokes is on form, Hooper isn't.

The 4-5-1 can work 3 ways. Either:

    ----------Kayal---------Ledley
    Brown-----------Ki-------------Commons

    or

    ----------------Kayal
    --------Ki-----------------Ledley
    Brown-----------------------------Commons

    or

    Borwn--Ki--Kayal--Ledley
    -------------------------Comomons.

I prefer the 1st one, however They would all sit a little deeper so it isn't a 4-2-3-1.

Does anyone know if Celtic will be selling the TV Rights for the Home leg?

If the do I think they will only sell them to Premier Sports because its the only realistic chance they will have of making an equal amount to ticket revenue that would be generated if they reserved the broadcasting rights.

First of all we need to be careful not to underestimate the team. Even if Celtic is clearly the better team Sion has some strong players and if they make two very good games they certainly have the strength and especially fighting spirit to win.
Also, they are a very strong cup team. They have been in the Swiss cup finals 12 times since 1965 and have won every single one of them (one of the titles was even while playing in the second highest league!).

Sion clearly is a dangerous team but nevertheless I think in the home game we should play with a 4-4-2 while going for an offensive 4-5-1 away. If we play a good game and manage to keep them under control I think a 2/3-0 is possible at home.

    Greetings from Switzerland!

i think if we get into the group, we'll get out of it and through to the next round

this is the tough one, nerves alone will make it tough

get through this and anythings possible in europe this year, we've got a * good team, the best in years

we are away for the first leg and play at home on the 25th.
You had me all excited there, i had to go double check it cause i'll be in milan on the 25th,which is three hours drive from Sion, and would have defenatly went up for just the atmosphere if not the game.:31::47::38::54:

We are not it got changed by Uefa because the huns got drawn away first too originally and you can't have two return legs on the same night in the same city. Since R*ngers were out of the draw first, our tie got reversed.
    Home game is the 18th.:50:

thanks. I don't know the team too well and I would say they don't have a lot of players that really stick out. But they certainly have a very good goalkeeper. Also Goran Obradovic, their captain, is a very important player for them in the midfield. In the defense Jonas Elmer probably sticks out a bit, he used to play for Chelsea youth and reserve teams, as well as Michael Dingsdag who has played well last season.
They also recently signed José Gonçalves. He used to play for Hearts and knows Scottish football, but it's not sure if he will get the definitive license for this season. Sion had been banned by FIFA from signing new players and FIFA says the ban is still valid for transfers of this summer while Sion is fighting to get their new players licensed. This insecurity could also be an advantage for us i guess...
