took him a wee bit to get into the game, but i agree he was very poor in the first 10-15 mins

Mphela hardly got a touch of the ball. Then Lacny didnt see much of the ball either but Lacnys movement looked good a few times he made good runs but never got the ball. Keeper had 1 save to make apart from the freekick. Never seen the 2nd goal right but he came out well to save the one after that.

the ball went thru the wall, the wall didnt do its job. good save from the keeper at the end. bottom line for me is whether the keeper is fit or not, he didnt get 82 caps for Croatia being a bad keeper.

This is why i hate this trialist nonsense, build a dossier and watch targets over time, unfair to judge these guys in their first game with a experimental team behind them, nerves, lack of knowledge of how their teamates play, these can all be factors..........does nobody remember henriks debut, these guys shouting pish , * etc would have had him binned after that game

Lacny has no chance. Mphela did nothing. I'd sign Pletikosa.

Pletikosa - shocking wall and positioning.
    Mphela - worth another look.
    Lacny - goodbye.

You serious?? Lancy done * all. Mphela looked sharp and worked hard but didnt get the service. Lancy just gave the ball away everytime. Pletikosa made one error but there was plenty of positives for him.

We should know tomorrow what is happening with these guys.

mphela was * with his positioning , had a nice couple of interchanges, good a header on goal and played a nice through ball to commons, mphela is worth getting in for the price imo

As anyone can see we all have differing views on the players after watching them in the same game. Lenny,Thommo,Mjallbyand Parker wil have seen them in training and in match situations and we wil have to trust in their judgement on who they want

The Keeper was ok IMO, Mphela looked decent to me as well but Lancy just looked second rate couldn't control the ball but he does run around alot and seems fast.

Mphela looked quite good from what I seen of him, didn't have a lot of chances but was more effective that Lancy and Murphy.

Wanyama looked really promising IMO once he settled down, solid midfielder with real potential. I thought he looked fast as well.

Mphela nearly scored with a header so I don't know what you mean by "didnae get a sniff"! :icon_mrgreen:

Like the sound of mphela's pace if he is anywhere near Daniel Larson then I think his pace could damage alot of defences in terms of pace

I thot Pletikosa did ok but his positioning for the first goal was poor and i noticed he loves kicking the ball long. I dont think he made a short pass once.

Mphela looked quite pacy but never got enough service. he nearly scored with a header but it was a good save.

Lacny didnt do much but I blame Murphy for that cos he should have done more to help his strike partners.

I would keep Mphela as a back up striker!

I was in FS3 for this one, so wasn't able to see Stipes positioning at the free kick, although the wall was shocking - big gap in it. Also hard to tell with the second goal.
I see a few folk have mentioned his kicking, which I thought was ok - bearing in mind most of the time he was aiming for Murphy - who tonight actually confirmed for me that he is not worthy - taxi please. Destination? Far, far away!!!

Stipes save after their 2nd was good and his balls out to defence are ok and he seemed to be keen to build from the back and not just houf it up the park, although they did quite high at times which limited his opportunity to do this - generally looked very comfortable with the ball at his feet...

Lacny made some decent runs & had good movement but his first touch just wasn't there, although to be fair both he & Mphela didn't see much of the ball and they were partnered by Murphy most of the time, with Lacny eventually being partnered by Sami, so no great improvement there...

Overall it wasn't the best game to judge either of them. And thinking back, plenty of good players, even some * like legends have had howlers on their debuts.

If this was a home game Vs an average spl team it may have been a different story...

Other than them Wanyama played rather well after a slow start. Definitely grew into the game and improved the longer he was on the park.

Mulgrew & Matthews were our best players tonight, IMO. Forrest good as well.

Overall though we were poor - only really looked like scoring from set pieces but if 3 different players who have free headers can't hit the target, then it's not your day!

To put a positive spin on it, it was a training exercise. It got the fitness levels up a bit and helped to improve match sharpness for some of our players. It also helped Lenny to make decisions on some players he's been considering!

    Hail Hail

I don't think he is that fast, he just looked decent but I wouldn't say he was a speed machine as he didn't leave any of the Wolves defenders for dead. He looks like he can spot a pass and and would fit into the team well.

All the big guns will be back for the Inter game. I reckon Matthews will be a good signing for us and iv a feeling Mulgrew could be the partner for Wison. Iv been really impressed with him

Lacny actually looks like he could cause alot of trouble in the spl, very fast and positioning was spot on, found himself space on a lot of occasions but no one seemed to find him, didnt see much of mphela because i was 20 mins late so cant really comment

Was pretty disappointed with Pletikosa tbh. Was hoping he'd do well as I wanted the keeper situation sorted this week but his positioning for that 1st goal was * ridiculous, could see it coming a mile off. And anyone blaming the wall for that is kidding themselves on. If Zaluska had done the same he'd be getting pelters for it.

Thought Mphela did well and was unlucky not to score with that header but 45 mins not exactly long enough to judge him. Lacny is rapid but didn't show much else.
