Seriously need to be looking at better than this. No too keen on the way we are looking at what I feel a very important position that needs to be filled and murphy (Jamie) isn't the answer.
Aye he's. Decent yong player, but a move here would see his progress stall IMO and would be a waste of £1million.

There are a few, especially young players - who still need to develop, such as Murphy, Cammy Bell, David Templeton, Rory McKeown Killie 18 year old left back, Dylan McGowan Hearts 20 year old right back, Murray Davidson St Johnstone.

As I said earlier guys like Murphy & Murray Davidson might already be too old & expensive to really qualify as a genuine prospect for Celtic, they will be looking for 1st team football & neither would get it at Celtic.

I like all these young players listed & think the one I would choose most would be the Killie LB, Rory McKeown who is only 18.

He looks a real prospect & we've no genuine good quality LB coming through at Celtic, would probably get him for around £200k - so he is a genuine prospect that would fit our signing mould.

Cammy Bell is good at Kille too, but he's looking for 1st team football & would cost more.

I wouldn't want to buy more Squad fillers for good money, better to go younger & cheaper. Wanyama will probably be worth about £5m pretty quickly, if he continues to develop...I can't say the same for Jamie Murray...but it's pure speculation on my part. :87::50:

The only player I'd take in the SPL is Templeton.

I like him but £1million is a bit steep as he would rarely start, in the first season anyway.

I think he's one of only 2 players in the SPL who could develop into actually good players him and Johnny Russel.

Both of them have the basics and all they really lack is a higher level of fitness, strength and consistancy. Its correct that they are Scottish though so may never put in the work to get stronger and fitter and help their game so consistancy may never come.

I disagree with people saying Templeton though, Templeton is like Goodwillie imo a decent at best player who is at his peak and his peak isnt even outstanding at average SPL teams. They wont get any better, they cant really, they are as fit as they will ever be and their ball skills or strength couldnt get any better.

If Murphy or Russell were available on bosmans id take them straight away but considering they'd be 4th choice forwards or 3rd/4th choice wide players then paying £1million for them isnt worth it.

he is motherwells all time top scorer in europe :p
and yeah, he is a fan of the dark side, the keyboard player in my old band was an ex motherwell pro youth player that was in the same team as him and they're both mad huns.

Nah, not for me. He's the type of player who raises the level of the SPL - a cut above your average SPL player but not good enough for us.

Same with me, Jamie Murphy isn't good enough for Celtic, his scoring record is pretty poor. I know that sometimes stats don't show everything but we should be trying to sign better quality players than Murphy:50:
