    Michels
    Van Gaal etc.

Still to this day all massive names in football. Times, I have the feeling that will never come back again.
Best team in the world in the early 70's, a great comback in 1995 and since then it's downhill. Just like Celtic (once a massive name in world football), the club can't keep up with the big spending names in England, Spain, Germany and Italy.

So just for old times sake...some magic moments. :50: Just see it as a tribute thread to Ajax.

I knew it would be something like this when I saw your name popping up at this thread. :56: :50: But he made you guys a promise that he kept. He went out to Feijenoord to show them how to become champions. :icon_mrgreen:

Used to be my favourite European team but lost a lot of respect for them when we got pelted with bricks by their fans when I was at the 3-1 game in Amsterdam. Still had the last laugh but really didn't think their fans would be like that.

Not anymore. Feyenoord youth system is crowned best of the country last year and this year.

Im paying my share of tribute. Btw Cruijff came after Feyenoord already won a uefa cup, a champions league title, the intercontinental cup and 11 domestic league titles. So we already knew how to win.

Always liked Ajax. Went to the CL qualifier we lost one nil to them.

Always like Kluivert from 1995 on and Ajax as a result. Would love to see them being a big club again.

I first learned about Ajax when I was around 8 years old and my big brother went to Amsterdam on holiday. He brought me back an Ajax top and since then I've tried to own an Ajax top. I don't know a huge amount but they seem like a great club.

Although it always confuses me why they're known as the Jewish club?

Why is Celtic known as a Catholic club? :50: (Ok, that one's more obvious ofcourse :icon_mrgreen:)

It had some Jewish roots in the past (don't ask me what or when that was, I never could be bothered to find out TBH) and the supporters just kind of took it as their nickname in the 70's I think it was.

Thanks for the clarification. I want to go to an Ajax match one day. I was in Amsterdam in February and I asked a local if the stadium was easy to get to and apparently you just take a tram. Definitely going to try and make it over for one.
