How many times have we heard it though? I remember reading he was 100% off to Man City not long ago and he got absolutely slated for it.

I don't mean to be cynical, but the guy who "broke" the story runs a fairly new website and recently brought out a magazine. This story will definitely boost hits to his website, and wouldn't it be just lovely for him to say to potential advertisers "last month we got xyz amount of visitors!".

Possibly mate and I hope it's you that turns out to be right.

The only reason I'm * off about the story is that I've heard so many good things about the lad as a player and I'm kinda hoping he's going to be a big star for us in the future. It would just really disappoint me to see him stolen away and especially by Chelsea of all clubs.

Looks like he has simply got a big head on small shoulders, you earn your reputation in football, Ronaldo can act like a right * sometimes but he has earned the right to do that because he is a top top player, he has proved himself, feruz has proved nothing yet and from reports thinks hes a world beater.

I too think if he goes to man city or chelsea then he will disappear in a few years time, he does not have the attitude to make it at the top level, Messi isn't his brilliant best because of 100% natural talent, he works even harder than anyone in the squad to be the best, looks like this kid thinks it will fall into his lap, hes probably got good talent but * workrate.

We will see whether we are proved wrong but playing for celtic or living in somalia which would he rather have had when Tommy saved him and his family.

If he's that good why are we not hearing great stories about his displays for Celtic just now?, In my opinion he has played well in one or two under 19 games but why is he not a cert start in the team?, I went to last seasons Glasgow Cup final(under 17s) and he wasn't playing and i've been to loads of the Youth Cup Finals and still not seen him play, He was on the bench this year and we didn't use him, Why?, If he's that great he should be playing and if he's not he must be on the bench for some reason.

He's only 15/16 – who plays for the first team at that age? Playing for the u19's certainly suggests we rate him.

Be really disappointed in the situation, and the boy, if this is true.

hes a really good prospect for his age group but hes not the world beater some people make him out to be. For scotland he plays up 2 age groups but i know he isnt a regular for the celtic u19s team and im not even sure if he started for the u17s last year. We have some incredibly talented young lads who play the same positions that he does but i think if he stayed he would be a regular for the u17s this year and be coming off the bench for the u19s

Theirs not even a comparison to be made to those players and feruz. all of Those players have played for the first team for at least one year and will be here for this year aswell. I would imagine if they were sold after this year they would be greeted warmly on their return. IF feruz ever was to make the first team and actually fufill the hype surrounding himself then i think all any reasonable celtic fan could expect would be for him to give us one or two years in the first team before he was sold on to one of the EPL big boys. Its the fact that he might be * off down to chelsea before hes even featured for the first team after all the club has done for him that is * everyone off

I never mentioned him playing for the 1st team.He came on against Hearts in his last game for the under 19s and was sent off for retaliation.

Exactly my thoughts I wouldn't be mad if he had left after becoming a first teamer and had allowed us to sell him on. Instead he has * off to Chelsea and we will get almost nothing for developing him, that is what is making me angry

Will be slightly * off if he leaves, but he hasn't yet, who knows if he will or not, but i do agree, if he goes to chelsea, he won't be seen again.

I understand why some people are getting upset over this but several things I would like to point out. Firstly this was reported in the scotzine and as far as im aware this is just a fan site more or less, not really a very credible source. Secondly we are all well aware that Tommy put a lot of work to keep the boy in the country but sentiments like that dont usually come into play for modern day footballers, he will have had his head turned by promises by Chelsea. If indeed this rumor is true I would be more disappointed in his parents because they should be more sympathetic to the work that TB did. Lastly if he doesnt want to stay well thats his decision and I would rather have someone who wants to play for us and clearly he doesnt. Again all this depends on whether the rumor is in fact true.

    1. Real celtic fans wouldn't be slagging off a young boy regardless of the eventual option.
    2. the source is a total rumor mill, and has no crediblity.
    3. Tommy Burns is a celtic legend and people should stop using what he did for the boy and his family as emotional blackmail. Its crass and vulgar. Tommy Burns was a selfless man who would have taken the action he did because it was the right thing to do.
    4. Celtic is a successful club at bringing through young talent and into the first team, we have been doing it for ages from the 60's,70's 80's less so in the 90's and now 00's. If this kid is the new messi, then the club would have taken all necessary action to safeguard their investment in the player.
    5. Players are not cattle, they are human beings, with familys to support (including parents who are probably working on low income jobs) and have the right to work for who they like and earn the living to support them.

I dont really believe the source I wont believe this until I see him in a Chelsea shirt saying himself he has moved and there is a story on sky sports about it. Everyone does lose prospects though, look how many we take from other clubs there's a massive amount of hypocrites on this board slating the player for wanting to move up yet praise youngsters we sign for taking the step up and moving here. At the end of the day he is a young lad who wont be totally matured if he was a man who has done his growing up im sure he would understand the loyalty side a bit better.

A young boy using Celtic. I can't believe some of the
    comments on here.

I would imagine Tommy would be happy for the lad to
be fit & healthy & able to play a good class of football
wherever that is.Or do some think what TB did was enough
    to tie him here emotionally/morally?

Good luck to the lad,but i hope the rumour is like all
the other * ones & he stays here.

Will wait till this is confirmed, but very disappointed if this is true. I don't buy into the fact you can't condemn him for jumping ship.

Celtic, and our ambassador Tommy Burns, were the only reason he and his family weren't deported to a third world country. I'm incredibly proud of what Tommy and Celtic did for this kid. It was the right thing to do, regardless of footballing ability, and I'm sure Tommy will be smiling down on him wishing him all the best.

However, if little Islam had a tenth of the integrity that Tommy Burns had, he would have stuck around for a while to repay the club that gave him and his family a shot at a better life. Hope he succeeds wherever he goes but I suspect that one day he may rue his decision to leave Celtic.
