I think the fact some of our new players are huns is not as important as the fact that they are Scots. WGSs has found a market to quarry where you get value for money-Scotland. Glad to see it. English market is stupid money and did you hear today that the EPL money has been doubled so we will be massively outbid by even the bottom EPL teams.

 

He's a good keeper mate, I stay in Inverness and he is very highly rated (not thit that means much) IMO he is one of the big reasons Caley are still in the SPL, I would give him the nod over Marshall anyday.

No, in the form Boruc is in and the fact he seems to be staying clear of injury at the moment, Boruc is def no1, but, I would not feel worried if the time came where we had to use Brown in goals, the ability is there, which is what you want from youre back up goalie.

Obviously with Marshall going out on loan to Norwich we needed to sign a backup and Mark Brown is a good solid goalkeeper who fits the bill nicely I think. I also wonder given the fact that we actually signed him does that signal maybe that David Marshall might be sold permanently during the summer.

 

A great move for Cektic all round I think & good to see the club move fast to both satisfy Marshall's wish for 1st team football & also to sign up a QUALITY 2nd keeper on a good contract for a minimum fee.
There was talk of how much money the EPL are now getting, well Celtic showed how much their finger is on the pulse by moving so quickly, acting in a proper manner (according to ICT) & giving 2 of the best young Scottish keepers the opportunity to fight it out for a place on Celtic's bench.
My only worry would be that perhaps WGS feels Boruc may want out soon to EPL or Spain etc... I'd hate to lose him, but if we do lose him, it will be for BIG BUCKS & now we at least have 2 good keepers to choose from & 1 was free, whilst the other was cheap...Good planning I say!

 

imo we have sent david marshall out on loan to get him games ahead of next season.. i reckon the club know mr boruc is leaving. david marshall will come back in summer to vie with mark brown for first team slot over pre season. doesnt make sense to put a keeper out on loan and then sign another. something fishy here and its no ma haddock n chips. for me borucs is going.

 

Boruc is one of Celtic's top talents, Boruc has stated before that he doesnt want out and that people that arent close to him are making these tabloid claims. I believe Boruc and he will be between our sticks next season. We are in the position not to sell our best assets unless its for huge money(EPL equv money) and that will stand to us.

Marshall will be the one to leave, unfortunately.

Just scanned the thread again and need to make a few points.

Who gives a * if he used to be at Rangers, as Graham has already pointed out he was at Celtic boys club before he went there. Welcome to the 21st century, it's time for all you * dinosaurs to remove the chip on yer shoulders.

He'll sit on the bench most games, but I wouldn't be surprised if WGS gave him a few starts, it's not as if we're under pressure in the league. Boruc has been in great form, but as we've seen this season, goalies can get injured like every other player.

As for Marshall, I think he'll make the move permanent, and I'm not too bothered about that because after an incredible initial impact he looked very very shaky.

If anyone criticises his ambition, he won't play for Scotland either, he'll sit on the bench watching Craig Gordon.

Caley are one of the lowest paying teams in the league, he has probably quadrupled his wages, and he has to think about his future like all players.

 

From what I've seen of Brown, he is no better or worse than Marshall. This seems to be strange signing, especially when we have more pressing positions to be strengthened.

I am assuming that Marshall will be leaving permanently at the end of this loan deal.
