I was wondering if there was anyone on here who is currently studying, has studied or is going to be studying at Glasgow Caley.

I will be starting there next year and was looking for any information on what it is like as university, if you did enjoy/are enjoying it and why?

Any info would be much appreciated :celt_2:

    Hail Hail!

I've just finished my second year at Caley last month.

Are you staying in caley court? I stayed in there in first year and it's amazing. Met some quality people and had some mad parties!

The actual uni is good too - or atleast i enjoy it but i have nothnig to really compare it against. I'm doing business and most lecturers are alright, pretty approachable.

Another thing i like about caley is you don't get looked down on by other students in the saltire centre or wherever else. I stayed in the west end during 2nd year and found that area was a bit snobier than along nearer caley.

    Anything else just ask.

Cheers for that, I have applied for accommodation but I'm not sure if I will get it as of yet so i don't know where i would be staying.

I never got the chance to see what the accommodation was like when i was there, anything that i should really know?

    Thanks again :icon_mrgreen:

I go to Cali, even though I had to repeat a module it is a good uni. Only problem is no union bar!!!! There was but it was * so now it's just in Walkabout. Aye I know, Walkabout is so expensive and the thing about a union is it's supposed to be cheap for us poor wee students to get *.

What you going to be studying?

I liked the Caley. There's a cracking gym there :50: I wasn't impressed by the social facilities either but it's smack bang in the town next to the bus station and about a million bars and eateries

Yeah not having a union is pretty * - but then in saying that i hate strathy union so i'd rather not have one than have one like that.

About the accomodation, i was in an en suite room and i'm really glad i was. When i visited the shared bathroom buildings i just couldn't imagine being in there. Especially after nights when the whole flat had been out!!

I'm doing biomedical science. Problem is I failed a module and can't carry it in the course so repeated that year there. * solid course.
Good luck to you with your course.
And again, Cali is a really good uni. Nice campus, some work being done it jsut now. And close to some good bars in town.

Just finished studying accountancy there, its Awrite but this year has been *. Just cos they changed the exam times which meant we didn't have study time. But its an Awrite uni. Walkabout isn't that dear you get deals as a caley student.

Some or my lecturers were * though, weren't approachable and spoke to you like they were better than you but, that was only a couple of them. The rest were good.

No sure about multimedia journalism mate but for social sciences we had a 6 subject programme for first year and then could choose (basically mix and match) from the same 6 for 2nd year. This year its down to at the most 3 next years honours year meaning 1 or 2.

Don't know how relevant that is to other courses though sorry!
