I know mate, 3 draws in the history of the Grand Final.

The first game was fantastic but it probably ruined the reply and the players looked so dejected after the final buzzer. Good for the neutral fans though.

Countdown to Grand Final is now just over 1/2 hour from first bounce. Always a cracker & best 2 teams all season made it to the biggest game of the season. C'arn Geelong!

Congratulations to Geelong. Glad to see the Cats win, though I reckon if the Hawks had've been able to squeeze past the 'Pies last week, then just maybe the story may've been different... guess we'll never know.

According to Heraldsun.com.au these are the deals that are most likely to happen

    Jack Gunston to Hawthorn
    Addam Maric to North Melbourne
    Tom Lynch to Adelaide
    Ivan Maric to Richmond
    Mitch Clark to Fremantle
    Tony Armstrong to Sydney
    Brad Ebert to Port Adelaide

most of these deals are pretty much done, but nothing is confrimed until Monday 12pm Australian Eastern Daylight Savings time, which is about 12 hours ahead of what ever the time is in the UK

New Season kicks off shortly with the debut of Western Sydney (GWS) in the AFL, in I guess is now the 'Sydney Derby' (or as close as it gets, lol) v the Swans.

The rest of R1 takes place from Thurs - Sun next weekend.

    C'arn the Hawks!

Great start by the Hawks to the Premiership. Beat last year's Grand-Finalist Collingwood in an absolute humdinger at the MCG in front of over 78,000 supporters.

The Hawks were looking good for the win midway through the 3rd Qtr, leading by 26, but by 10 min into the final Qtr, the Magpies lead by 5 and the momentum seemed to be all Collingwood, yet the Hawks battled back and took the win by 22 points.

    Hawks 20.19 (137)
    Magpies 16.19 (115)

Next week taking on last season's Premiers, Geelong.

Hawks went down in a 2 point heart breaker to last year's premiers, Geelong. Still that's only round 2, and although they came from behind to win, am reasonably happy with our early season form, as I really think this could be a great year, once they really start to click.

Taz whats going on? what a horrible second half against the bloods on the weekend. Roughy had 5 at half time and didn't get near it in the second half. Mitchell, Buddy and Cyril never got near the ball. Hodge had his first game back so I didn't expect a lot out of him.

Josh Kennedy (the traitor!) dominated which killed it. I knew he was going to be pure class

Hawks get back in winning ways with a 45 point win over the Saints. Needed that performance, as they've been struggling in recent weeks... Played 6, won 3, lost 3 - hardly the form needed for genuine title contenders. Thankfully plenty of time to recover & still expect us to climb the table and feature in September, but did not think after 6 weeks we'd not even be in the 8 & having played a game more than 3 teams that are ahead of us.

Magpies scored 2 goals in the last minute to secure a win over reigning premiers Geelong, who had staged a late comeback to level the scores going into the final 60 seconds, in the clash between last season's grand finalists. Didn't get to see the game but consensus seems to be neither is as consistantly strong a force as they were last season - which is good for the rest of the league. :icon_mrgreen:

Hawthorn continue their own rehab after a couple of narrow losses in the first few rounds. A third consecutive win, this time over Fremantle saw the Hawks move up to 6th, leapfrogging the WA outfit to do so. :50:

Aussie Rules is played in Cricket grounds. So it can be played in the countries in which Cricket is played. Aussie Rules should be change its name to more international one; and make effort to spread it to the Indian Subcontinent, Britain and Commonwealth, etc.

Another comfortable win for the Hawks, this time over Carlton. The season is now at the halfway stage & just to show how tight the competition is - although Hawthorn are sitting in 6th, they are just 2 wins off being in 1st.

Massive win for Hawthorn yesterday, absolutely thrashing the Giants by 162 points. The win means the Hawks' percentage is the best in the league. The table may show us in 5th, but the Hawks are just 1 win behind the 4 teams (Swans, Eagles, Crows & Magpies) jointly in first.

    HAW 28.25. (193)
    GWS 4.7 (31)

Another comprehensive win for Hawthorn, beating the Bulldogs by 72 points. Hawks have now won 6 on the trot & have moved up another spot on the ladder & into the Top 4 - 1 win behind joint leaders the Swans, the Crows and the Magpies (who they take on next week).

Hawks have just hammered the Magpies to the tune of a 47 point margin. Great way to start the day before heading out! This has moved Hawthorn into second behind only the Crows (though the Swans still have a game in hand)
