Magpies & the Hawks on right now...

Early lead for Collingwood, but it's still only the 1st Qtr.

The Hawks losing was just the fina nail in what has been a miserable weekend for me. Celtic lose, Rabbitohs lose, Hawks lose, Tim Wakefield had a rough outing (though the Red Sox managed to pick up a few wins)... and worst of all didn't get to see my daughter.

At least Geelong finally drop a game, whilst the Hawks remain in the top 4.

Geelong drop their second game, having registered back-to-back defeats. Meanwhile the Hawks moved into 3rd with a comfortable win over Brisbane. Happy days.

Hawks win over Fremantle & still comfortable in 3rd.. but the headlines are all about Geelong, who absolutely murdered Melbourne by 186 points!!! Freaking scary!!!
    Geelong 37-11 (233) v 7-5 (47) Melbourne

Absolute monster pulverizing by the Hawks over Port Adelaide - who have now had the 2 worst results in their entire club's history in back to back weeks. 136 pnt loss to the Magpies last week, & now 165 pnt loss to the mighty Hawks!

    (31.11) 197 v (5.2) 32

Now that it is almost the business end of the season great to see the Hawks still flying high. Very comfortable in 3rd & although the Cats & the 'Pies are still favourites to take the flag, we certainly giving outrselves the best possible chance. :veryhappy:

Another win at the weekend, tight one for the Hawks over Carlton. 2 rounds left of the regular season & sitting comfortably in 3rd. 2 rounds to go & the 2 remaining fixtures are against the Bulldogs & Gold Coast means that the Hawks should be in fine form heading into the play-offs, but Collingwood & Geelong are still clearly favourites.

One step closer. Another win for Hawthorn - 113 - 67 over the Dogs.

That's 6 wins on the trot since they had the bye. One round to go before the play-offs. Geelong & Collingwood still the 2 favourites for the flag, but Hawks are doing their level best to be real contenders.

Regular season finished with a routine win over the Bulldogs, 117-67 & wrap up the preparations for the play-offs. Hawks comfortable in 3rd, going into the play-offs & guarenteed a second bite of the cherry if they stumble next week.

The drawer for the first weekend is:

    Geelong (2nd) v Hawthorn (3rd)
    Collingwood (1st) v West Coast (4th)
    St. Kilda (6th) v Sydney (7th)
    Carlton (5th) v Essendon (8th)

For those unfamiliar, the loser of the bottom 2 games is immediately eliminated.

Game really got away from the Hawks in the 3rd Qtr & Cats finished comfortable winners. To make matters worse, To make matters worse, looks like Lance Franklin will be out after picking up a bad knee injury. He's our main source of goals, so it's gonna be real tough now, if the Hawks are going to make it through to the Grand Final in 3 weeks time. At least they get another bite of the cherry next week.

Hawks eliminated Sydney & West Coast knocked out Carlton.

    Next weekend, the semi-finals:

    Collingwood v Hawthorn
    Geelong v West Coast

The winners go into the Grand Final.

Hawks had a great game, Buddy got through fine and we faught off a sydney comeback. I was at the game and * * it was a nerve racking one!

Adam Goodes played well in his 300th after I sprayed him about how in 1.5 qters he had done nothing and then he steped it up a notch, and Josh Gibson is a *!

Heartbreaker as Collingwood pip the Hawks by just 3 points in a squeaker. All in all, can't complain too much about Hawthorn's season as a whole & obviously room for improvement, next season.

As many expected & predicted, Geelong v Collingwood in the Grand Final, next weekend. THF, they've been the 2 teams to beat all season, so hopefully thgey can put on a show, worthy of the occasion. Will probably tune in, but I'll be buggered if I'll be supporting either, lol.

Anyone watching the Grand Final this weekend?

Think I'll be rooting for Collingwood, congrats to Dane Swan for winning the Brownlow. :50:

Hopefully it isn't a draw like last years Collingwood and St Kilda Grand Final.:56:

Draws in Aussie Rules are extremely rare.

That first game was one of the most exciting I've ever watched, let alone Grand Finals. An absolute humdinger. The replay, however, was not quite so good, as I think Saints went all out in the first game - their fighting spirit & determination was outstanding especially against a more skillful Magpies outfit. It took so much out of the Saints that in the replay the Magpies skill saw them run away with it.
