If Bellamy wants to finish his career at Cardiff the team he supports I say fair play to him

In Bellamy's opinion. He has said the only club he would consider apart from Man City was Cardiff.

I think you're perfectly right, he is trying to wangle his way into a release from Eastlands - but I have seen zero to suggest that Glasgow plays any part whatever in his plans.

What makes you think he's even considering Celtic?

Neil Lennon insists that he could yet complete a deadline day swoop for Manchester City forward Craig Bellamy.

The Welshman has been a long-term target for Neil Lennon, and despite suggestions that the forward would prefer a return to Cardiff, Lennon insists that he will work up to the final day of the transfer window to bring the 32-year-old back to Celtic.

Bellamy is surplus to requirements at Manchester City and Roberto Mancini would like to move the player on. The player spent last season at Cardiff and is likely to head out on loan again this term.

At the start of the August the Celtic manager suggested that any potential deal depended on the way the player's reported £80,000 per week salary.

Lennon stated: “We are still working on that deal but I don't know what percentage of his wage at City we would need to pay,” said the Celtic boss.

Bellamy had a half-season loan spell with Celtic in 2005, scoring nine goals in 15 games for the club, before returning to Newcastle United and subsequently being sold to Blackburn Rovers.

One quote from Lenny in the article that has nothing to do with the headline, scottish journos really are quite good at creative writing.

Even if we could get his wages sorted i wouldn't take him, good player though he is, he is famous for having the dodgiest hamstrings in british football and would no doubt miss about half of the games through injury. Let it go lenny and get us someone who'll be around for the long haul.

Bad news alert for #safc. Have been told Bellamy doesn't want to come to SoL and is still assessing options. Always a long shot I suppose

Lenny has said from the beginning the Bellamy-deal would be a last-minute-deal if it happens.

Peter Lawell and Co. wouldn't open the biscuit tin for the polish keeper, are we really to believe they'll do so for Bellamy?

do ya want to know wat i think it is, bellamy an lennon have come to some sort of an agreement, an thats if bellamy doesnt get the move he wishes, he'll come to us on the final day of the transfer window!! i like bellamy as a player an think his a real proven talent an would be a great signin, but i dont think its the right move for the club because it would ruin the partnership of stokes an hooper!! plus i think bellamy would have to play of a tall striker that can win ball in the air, which again we dont have anyone who can do that so that means another striker!!

Maybe we didn't sign Sandomerski because they wanted the money for Bellamy to come to Paradise. Anyway, i'ld rather have a keeper at the minute than anyone else in another position, the search for a goalie has went on too long now.

That would have been madness. Going for a player on loan who, I think, we dont actually need. And pass for a great looking GK we desperately need!
