Do you know people like this?

So one of the guys I play pick up with thinks he's the next Eto'o. He is going to Japan and he says he can make a team over there in the J-League Premier League. So he walked on my colleges soccer team and got cut in the first 20 mins of the tryout because ges the biggest ball hog ever. So he said I'm going pro, I ask why don't you try a team in the US he said * no because he thinks it sucks haha. So he is going for Japan and he even thinks he could make a team I. The first two levels of most European Leagues. I said I'm going to try out for Crltic haha. He didn't even make his high school team.

So do you know people like that, if you do tell your story.

 

Reminds me of myself when i was a wee bit younger, people filling my head with hope aswell... i was injury plagued even when i was younger, so it never worked out for me.

You have to be confident in yourself, but there's a difference between cockyness and confidence i suppose.

 

99% of so called talents fail, in other words will never become pros.

I used to play with a portuguese lad who went back to portugal and joined a fc porto youth team. haven't heard from him ever since.

a couple of mates play in the 2./3. highest league in Switzerland, that's all.

 

Theres a guy i know who i used to play football with in the park and that last year in a street team kinda thing, just to keep us busy. He's 22 now i think and just became a dad. One of his stories was that he was kicking the ball about on his holidays one time outside the Nou Camp and Messi appeared. He said that Messi asked him into the stadium to sign a contract because he was so impressed with him (Don't ask)

Anyway, he never passed a ball, honestly did think he was the next big thing. I remember asking him once did he think he could make it into the SPL, knowing that he would come off with something insane. He replied ''SPL? I could walk into the Barca team''. The scary thing is, the guy isn't joking.

Haven't seen him in about 6 months but recently a friend of mine told me that the money he and his girlfriend gets for the kiddo has been spent by him, going over to West Ham to get football lessons. Honestly couldn't believe it, the guy is a total numpty.

I used to play in the same team as Scott Arfield. He's the only person I've ever played with that's turned pro.

 

one of my dads pals plays for Elgin (that has nothing to do with this thread, just thought i'd let yous know)

a guy in my school plays for Hearts pro youth, and i don't have a * clue how, he has a good shot and is quite fast, knows a few tricks aswell, but he is honestly the most greedy player i have ever seen

 

played gaelic against niall mc ginn as a kid, even then he was one of the best players on the donaghmore team. cant say much cause look where he is now

 

Tin hat firmly on :icon_mrgreen: scouted by Rangers when i was younger and had a few trials nothing came about really think only a few got picked moved to England and played for Preston youth for a year but i have really bad knees got told by the doctors to not play football etc. a few times always kept it inside but it is gutting at times.

 

If Neil. catches a glimps of this he'll say the same thing, his cousin is such an * when it comes to football. He's the type of guy who does stepovers when nobody is even near him. He always tries to emulate Ronaldo too ffs. Overall he's that cocky arrogant * who always blames other people for his mistakes.

My mate played for Celtic, then St Mirren and now Clyde (pro youth) he is amazing at football but isn't cocky at all and he knows how good he is. Takes all of his exams etc seriously and tries at school, as he knows he probably wont make proffesional.

There's another guy in my school who's a complete *. He is decent at football, but he's a cocky *. He doesn't pass and expects everyone to give him the ball as soon as they get it. He also kicks you if you take the ball off him. Nobody ever asks him if he wants to go to football with them cause he ruins it for everyone.

 

Don't know any professionals but used to play with Marcus Fraser who plays with Celtic u19s good player and a nice guy. Although do know a lot of boys who didn't even try in their exams because they think they'll make it professional, actually heard that ones going to america to try his luck. Don't like the cocky footballers and generally their * anyway:icon_mrgreen:

A lad I used to play with when I was younger never ever got a game for the team but was always at training even though most of the time he was asked to sit out as he slowed things down I am sure he was in the team just because he used to bring a few lads from our area who was decent players over to training as the club was in the next town around 10 -15 miles away, I have always played at a fairly high standard to be honest and I have alot of mates playing semi pro clubs and a few who have played for clubs and all he ever does is slag the other lads of for only playing for semi professional teams and he thinks he is to good for that despite the fact he carnt even get into his mates sunday league side, he has to tell everyone he meets that he used to play for Birmingham City academy and Northern Ireland school boys which he never and he makes up stories about when he played or the county with me to other people which makes it awkward because I know hes lying especially because he couldnt even get into his school team let alone the county schools side, He is now off to America to play in the MLS APARENTLY.
