we need to slash the wage bill and get rid of bit part players in order to bring in quality to see us get the league next year and possibly a euro run so for that i would imadgine odea will be gone

For me I think we need to have 5 senior center backs given the number of games we hope to play in all competitions. So far we have Majstorovic, Wilson, Rogne, Loovens, O'Dea, Thomson with obviously Mulgrew having shown he can do a solid job there also. So right now as far as I can see we should sell one of our current center backs. That would be Thompson for me. If as the rumours suggest we sign another center back then we will likely sell another center back and for me that would be either O'Dea or Loovens.

Exactly, Lenny needs to get wise and be ruthless, there's no room for sentiment in football.

He's too slow and we have better, what would be the point in keeping him.
Who would win in a 100m sprint O'dea or big Maj lol

    Darren O'Dea

He has been playing recently for ireland really well ( mainly against scotland, put Miller in his place.) And i was thinking what people rate his chances in the team?

Mulgrew,Maj,Rogne,Loovens,Hoovield are all ahead of him.

His hearts in the right place, shame about his ability

Miller should have had a hattrick against Ireland. O'Dea is mince. Better than Majstorovic though.

I wouldn't agree with you there mate, I'm sure alot of us would rather Maj at the back rather than O'Dea.

I like O'Dea's commitment, I really want him to do well for us, he just doesn't have the class to be a regular CB, because we can do much better than O'Dea in our defence. He loves the Hoops but its a shame he won't be a regular starter by the looks of it :54:

Same as Mick, always the sort of guy you want to succeed but not quite good enough.

Mick kinda did succeed though, he made it as captain under WGS, he threw himself into everything and you could see that Celtic was in his heart, its a shame things never turned right for him.

He should of got a penalty though.

And to Metrobhoy, Saying he should of got a hat-trick wasn't really O'Dea's fault, Miller obviously couldn't put his chances away so its Millers fault he never got the hat trick you say he should of had.

I want to keep him. Others should be punted before him in my opinion.

If O'Dea can play like he has been for Ireland I'd hang on to him to see how he goes in pre-season and the first few league games, if anyone can get the best from it it's Lenny, I thought he looked alot more composed than John O'Shea lastnight and he bollocked Kilbane on more than one instance lastnight and he also had a go at O'Shea for sitting to deep, he's showing signs that he's desperate to play I think.

Never realised O'Dea has been playing well recently, last i heard he couldn't even get a game for Reading. I'd given up on him tbh.

He always did have the capabilities to do well, just never done it enough. I suppose the reason for sending players out on loan is for them to get game time and build up some confidence, so by rights we should have him back to see if he's improved. Don't think i'll hold my breath though.

Oh and Metro i see ur still cracking people up all over the Celtic online community :celt_2:
