Okay we have one match before the season comes to an end, we have had some great performances from the team and obviously some which were not so good during the season, so who is going out the door over the next month or so ?

I think our Mexican is definitely a goner, I also think Murphy, Maloney, Loovens, Hinkel, O'Dea, Mc Ginn are on the brink, while a few other fringe players will also be gone to make way for a few quality signings.

What's your list of the likely casulties ?

Going through the team I think Forster, Zaluska, Cervi, Cha, Hinkel, Loovens, O'Dea, McGinn, McCourt, Murphy, Conroy, McGowan, Ljungberg, Hooiveld, Rasmussen and Hutchinson.

Well, how many are inthe first team? abvout 30? at least 10 will be leaving since I think Lenny wants' a squad of 23, plus the guys he's already got in on a pre-contract.

Think I'll go for the same as above:

Forster (wouldn't mind keeping Forster), Zaluska, Cervi, Cha, Hinkel, Loovens, O'Dea, McGinn, McCourt, Murphy, Conroy, McGowan, Ljungberg, Hooiveld, Rasmussen and Hutchinson.

Not convinced the bolded ones will leave but I do think that Scott Brown might. I think he is going into the last year of his contract and it may depend how much we offer him.

Forster - returns to Newcastle
Zaluska - heading back to Poland apparently
Hinkel - back to Germany
Hooiveld - 1.5m
Loovens - 0.75m
O'Dea - 0.5m
McGinn -0.75m
Juarez - 3m
Ljungberg
McGowan 0.15m
Rasmussen 1m
hutchinson free

i'd say the weekly wages of the above are about 130k a week.

If they all leave and we bring in a Goalkeeper on a free (preferably Westwood) and also an experienced good quality defender and an experienced good quality striker we'll be sorted for next season.

we finally have a settled team, no need for many new faces, just a bit of tweaking to the squad by replacing the above and bringing in more quality.

Lets be brutally honest abt it .the likes of mccourt mcginn murphy loovens o,dea hinkel mcgowan are never going to looked upon as first team regulars and i think as such should try there luck elsewhere. In my humble opinion we need a class goalkeeper centre half and a striker ,i,d get shot of stokes and maloney too

I defo think Zaluska, Hinkel, Loovens, O'Dea, Thompson, McGinn, McGowan, Ljungberg, Hooiveld, Rasmussen and Hutchinson should be going..and maybe Juarez, which is a shame after showing so much promise at the start of the season, and not had much of a chance since.

Hopefully Forster will be back, even though Lenny will probably have a decent replacement lined up, and don't think Murphy will be going as he offers something different, not unless we sign someone like John Sutton.

But if these players were to go it would free up the best part of £100k in wages, while clearing out most if not all of the deadwood. Our squad is just too big and if we can replace about 12 mediocre players with 2 or 3 quality players while not spending much at all...that would be great business and make for a much healthier squad!

I would like to see these players out:
Hinkel
Ljungberg
Samaras
Cha
McGinn
Loovens
Hooiveld
Hutchinson
Zaluska
Rasmussen
Forster
Murphy
O'Dea
McGowan
Maloney

It's a lot but we have a big squad and need to ship out the dead wood and make 2 or 3 quality signings. A keeper, centre back and forward is the minimum I'd like to see in.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Bet you, there's going to be a huge clear out at CP this summer.
Don't think Lenny likes to work with a huge squad. He seems to prefer quality over quantity.
Hence, he may cut down the 1st team to 24, 'Quality' players.
The usual suspects at the departure lounge have all been mentioned in this thread. But, don't be shocked if there are some surprise names in the list !!!!
Lenny maybe forced to sell some big names to get in some revenue, as we don't have Champions League money for next season.

Let the people sing
Starting from the back i'd sell / release

Zaluska - never going to be number 1

Loovens - so much potential when he first signed, back up player at best
Hoovield - if he was at good at football as he was talkin himself up to the press he'd be staying...just not good enough
Hinkel - great player but with wilson, cha and matthews he is surplus to requirements
O'dea - again good player but we have better.

McGinn - we have better players in his postition
McCourt - has the skill to be a great player, just dont see him getting as maby games as he should
Maloney - probably will stay but he's far too injury prone
Freddie - dont know why we signed him...

Mcgowan - we have better players
Hutchy - same as above
Rasmussen - dont think he's good enough
Stokes - not trusted in big games, if offer was to come in i think he'd be gone

That would leave us with

Cervi
New gk x2

Wilson M
Maj
Wilson K
Mulgrew
Izzy
Matthews
Juarez
Cha
Rogne

Twardzik twins
Ki
Ledley
Forrest
Kayal
Brown
Commons

Hooper
Murphy
Samaras

We would need two keepers
Another centre half
Tall striker

Offloading the dead wood is easier said than done but there are many players taking a wage for very little in return, we need less emphasis on squad players and players with potential, experience is required particularly in defence.

Forster - how many game changing saves has he made? Can't remember any TBH
Hoiveld - all mouth no action
Odea - obviously not good enough if he's been here since youth and not a regular at 23yo
Hinkel - faithful servant but think he will move on
Cha - not good enough
McGinn - great pace but offers very little else. Forrest has taken his first team place
Maloney - proved time and again that he's just not got it anymore. Always injured.
Ljunberg - not given any game time. Think he could tear the SPL up but no point having him on the books
Samaras - 3 goals all season. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. I don't care that he scored 2 massive goals against them - if he can't get into double figures every season he shouldn't be a Celtic striker
Murphy - perhaps Lennon's only questionable signing. I like the big guy but he is limited in what he can do. Once again 3 goals this season and 2 were penalties. NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

Thats £90k a week roughly or, better put £4.68m a year that would be better off in our pockets plus maybe £4-5m in transfer fees.

New goalkeeper £2m
Wilson and Mathews in
Get in Hayes from ICT £1m
One decent backup striker for example Rooney from ICT £1m

Wages out £100k
Wages in £55-75k
Saving £45-25k or £2.3-1.3m a year

Tranfers rec'd £4-5m
Transfers paid £4m

We'd be considerably better off, a squad of about 25 and we would romp every competition domestically and get a good run in Europe.
