Think you can only appeal a staight red, don't think two yellows can be appealed.

Agree the first was never a yellow, but they know the rules, you cant go to the crowd. should have known better in my opinion.

Nope. Can't appeal yellows. Don't know how C.Thompson could give a yellow for diving there. Your not meant to book anyone for diving unless your 100% sure.

Silly moves on both Commons' and Thompson's parts.

    He was clearly tripped.

As for the 2nd, daft yes, but it was an emotional match and a fine moment.

I haven't seen Commons' first yellow card but he was * stupid to go to the fans when he had already been booked. That's him out for Sunday. Eejit. :31:

it was a bad call but not the worst ever made.

Commons got carried away and earned himself a suspension for his trouble. I can't blame the ref here, but find it hard to really call Commons out for going to the crowd. A * siutation no doubt but one I can live with.

    I'm not picky.
The thing is you even saw the ref's gesture as if to say "can't help it - I know it's stupid but I have to book you for it". Commons accepted it as well as he obviously knew himself he shouldn't have done it. The first booking was never a booking but Commons knew he had been booked and shouldn't have went into the crowd but was probably just caught up in the moment as anyone would have been.

I don't think that he misses Sundays game. It wasn't a sending off for violent conduct and I think that means the suspension comes into force later, maybe the first game of new season.

Majorly disappointed in Commons. If the unlikely happens and motherwell win the SC then that'll be a terrible end to his season. He's not a naive youngster, he should know better. :38:

Shame you can't appeal a yellow for "simulation". Was daft to go into the crowd, but the fans are that close at the mini hun ground you only need to be a couple fo feet away to get dragged in.
Hopefully Maloney or Forrest can step up to hump this lot on Sunday.

I think the main thing is that, within the laws of the game, it is not an automatic booking for leaving the field to celebrate a goal, the Ref has some discretion.

There have been plenty of occasions, even this season, where players have left the field to celebrate with their fans and have not been booked.

It's a section of the rules that needs tidied up.
