Our Manager has been attacked once again and some people want to criticise our own supporters for daring to be defiant and sing naughty songs.* idiots.

You make it sound as though these people are forgetting about the attack on our manager, as though you must only be critical of one or the other. As though they are not both, to differing degrees obviously, instances of unacceptable behaviour. It beggars belief that some people are so entrenched in their 'RA loving that they can't see it, or simply choose not to.

Aye too right, they are sending bombs to our manager, sending bullets to our manager, attacking him in the street, attacking him in stadiums and you think we should bend over backwards to please these *? They can go * themselves.

Any fan who thinks any different can go * themselves.

I'm not getting into an argument about if they're acceptable or not with you, there's more important things at hand than some * Rebel songs.

I expected the Celtic Support to stand together and be united after all these evil and mean assaults from the dark side. Instead we waste our energy on meaningless discussions like which songs should (not) be sung..

    I'm lost for words.

HELLO OUR MANAGER WAS ASSAULTED TODAY AT THE GAME!

Anyone that was shocked to hear the rebs sung with such gusto tonight has either never been at a football match or is incredibly naive. After what happened to Neil Lennon our fans were always going to give it laldy. And they did. I would have done the exact same had I been there.

It's not my bag, but as long as it's political and not racist or sectarian, there is no reason to ban it. Rangers fans won't stop singing the sash, but I have no complaints about that. Why should our support stop singing of a time that led to the creation of the Irish republic?

I would like to see it dissipate, personally, as I think the newer songs are more fun, "Just can't get enough", etc. The Green Brigade are to be commended for bring a much better atmosphere to Parkhead recently. Keep it up bhoys!

I love the Rebs, don't get me wrong, but I think the ones that explicitly mention the IRA should be cut out from the football matches. It attracts the negative media attention and makes the club look bad as a result.

    Just my take on it.

Like I said, it's not the songs themselves I have a problem with. It's the stupid * in the media that to make us look bad because Rangers are up to their knees in sectarian bile. If the * media would lay off us and realize that these songs are not sectarian, I'd enjoy listening to them being belted out from the stands a lot more. But every time I hear them being sung right now, I can't help but think of the many Hun journalists around the country licking their lips, ready to pounce on us yet again.

I enjoy singing rebel songs at Celtic games. Nothing wrong with it.

I agree with the original post. I don't agree or like the singing of songs like that one bit.

In fact i'm going to be brutally honest here and say it sickens me. Members of my family (who i'll point out were catholic before anyone jumps in with any of that stuff) died because of the actions of the IRA so in my opinion those responsible are evil * and i find the pro IRA songs deeply offensive for that reason. Some of you need to think that a lot of innocent people were killed by the IRA so give that a thought before you start belting out the songs.

I have Irish roots that stem back generations but you won't catch me singing a lot of the songs simply because i'm Scottish. I know plenty guys who join in the songs that have never set foot on Irish soil which baffles me. I don't think it is because of the Celtic Irish roots etc. I think it's mainly people joining in just to fit in with the crowd and be accepted. Fair enough anyone who's from Ireland is more likely to be singing Irish songs but anyone who's not Irish is just fitting in imo. No different to other teams singing of far off lands that they have never been to as well.

It seems to be that if you are not of that way of thinking that some people consider you less of a Celtic fan which is just madness and from what i have read anyone who doesn't agree with the singing of pro IRA songs are told to * off in some cases. Now i got "told off" the other night for telling the Lennon haters to * off. Not seeing the same level of moderating in this thread.

    Completely agree.

Whenever anyone disagree's with the rebel stuff a heap people go mad and tell you to support another club.

A club for all in their eyes? my hole.

Not all forms of the can be called murdering *. The Irish Volunteers certainly weren't murdering * and the IRA that fought in the Cogadh na Saoirse (Irish War Of Independance) also weren't murdering *.

Most if not all of the away end sang the rebels last night and seemed to enjoy it. They took the time, spent their hard earned cash to get there, so in my book they have that right to sing want they want. the songs are not illegal or sectarian.
Most off the lads on here are sitting in there homes complaining about what the fans in the stadia are singing.

Why's everyone so upset about the meeja? How's about singing about people who murdered women and children in cold blood? The moral issue maybe? Fs...
