Looking back now those 4 out of 5 games in November cost us the league.

    P 5 W 1 D 3 L 1

But we should have beat Caley and it wouldn't have mattered.

Unplayable on his day, i stick by that statement... we've seen him rip defenses apart... i agree he has been poor this season, i just wish he could be consistant.. and play like he did at Ibrox, so he could prove his doubters wrong.

Agree to disagree Marky ma man.:50:

Never mind the games in december, yes we dropped a lot of points at home, but we overcame that bad spell. Then we * the scum at ipox, then what do we do the following week? * 1-1 draw with the mighty Hamilton.
We manage to put that result behind us and then we thrashed the huns 3-0 at CP then what happens? We turn into a pub team again against Motherwell,* 2-0.But we overcame that again and had a penalty at Ipox with 8 mins to go.We all know what happened there.Still we overcame that and it was in our own hands with 4 to go.Then we again turn into a * pub team against ICT.The rest is history.Iknow there was no need to tell everyone on this forum what happened during the season, but the point I am trying to make is that a lot of people on here are looking for scapegoats but the sad fact is we were just not consistent enough throughout the whole season as a team. The team must take the blame collectively IMO.Lenny made lots of mistakes and he will concede that.He must be given the chance to put matters right next season and if he cant...well. I will be at swinecastle tomorrow night with thousands of others to support Lenny and the bhoys against Jefferies vermin so come on bhoys and ghirls lets get behind the team for these last 2 games. Hail ! Hail

Personally i would blame it on the performance against motherwell (2-0?) after beating the huns 3-0 ....got far to complacent and it broke our momentum a bit.

    Totally agree :50:

Especially as next season both Champions & Runners up qualify for the CL, we'll be gaurenteed bigger money. Investment is needed.

But that's for a different thread.....

    No, not at all.

The 0-0 draw was an excellent result and left the title within our own hands. A win would have been nice but lets not forget that we celebrated the outcome.

If we are looking for reasons why we're not going to win the league, presuming we don't of course, then we really can look no further than 3 concecutive home matches in November and December against Dundee United, Inverness and Kilmarnock which were all draws: two of them we were winning until the last minute as well.

If we had picked up an additional 4 points over them three matches then the title would have already been ours. And that's why I'm positive about next season. We gave away the title this year, anyone who saw the 3-0 in February knows that we are a much better side than Rangers at the moment, but the players will learn from this.

We lost it with one incompetent performance against Inverness.
Still can't believe that game....It was not our usual team on the pitch....how often do you see Commons, Kayal, Izzaguire, Hooper and Stokes all have a bad day in the same game....

coming into that match I never would expected a defeat....we lost it there and then!!

have u seen a handsome hun
not sammi's fault. over the course of the season we lost some points that were criminal to lose. notably
drawing 2-2 with utd when leading 2 -0
the ref giving the huns a pen in the 3-1 defeat which completely turned the game.
and the 1-1 at hamilton when the ref shouldnt have allowed the hamilton goal.......it wasnt all about the inverness loss. but very disappointing with so much at stake we let ourselves down.
    its been a good season.

Inverness lost us the title. The team shat it and now we're having to deal with it. * shambles of a performance up there. Let us all down badly. Feels almost as gutting as 2005.

We would have won the league if he didn't miss,

    But........

He didn't play against Inverness. That team is to blame.

You canny blame it one result, we have dropped daft points during the season, that's where we lost the league...if we do lose.

I blame the manager for thinking a draw would have been enough and playing for that a draw .

I also blame the manager and players for the * up of this season and failing to win the title this season and once again letting the huns of the hook for the third year well done .

If we had beaten Rangers at Ibrox their heads would have went down and stayed down, Samaras didn't score against Rangers from the spot, what a lift it gave them.

Rangers form since the last Old Firm game has taken a turn for the better, while ours has dipped badly, yes confidence plays a big part with footballers, Mac Gregor's save has spurned the Huns on in my eyes.

I wouldn't blame Samaras as such, but the penalty miss swung the momentum in favour of them tbh - look how they've reacted since that game. Compare this to us - nervy and poor really. Score the penalty, title is ours - Rangers would crumble and we'd stroll it. Miss it and Rangers have renewed belief. I'd rather we drew the game without missing a pen tbh - it felt like a defeat due to the manner of the draw.
