Islam Feruz - Development

Does anyone know how Islam is getting on with his early Celtic career?

Haven't seen or heard about him for a wee while and he's one of our brighest prospects coming through the ranks.

 

Few rumours about Man City knocking about trying to poach him wouldn't look to much into it though Celtic threatened legal action got told were to go but he did change his name to Islam Dzeko Feruz on his Facebook suppose just like us with Larsson or something probably his favourite player or whatever.

He seems to have been 15 for years now but i think he is 16 alot of controversy around lads from Africa and there ages.

He was on the bench for the Celtic u19s final and on the bench last time i seen seen Scotland u19's only seen bits of the lad play but my cousin played against him and said he was class and he also played in Tommys test. with the likes of big Paolo and Larsson and he megged BBJ if i remember right so the lad certainly seems a talent i'm told he has a bit of arrogance but that's not always a bad thing and of course he owes it to Tommy Burns especially to show us what he can do and hopefully we will see the lad out there sooner rather than later or never

It was a joke he has just turned 16.

 

He got a red card at a match recently for lashing out.

He will probably play tonight in the Glasgow Cup Final. It is an opportunity to go and have a look at him and some other young players who are coming through.

 

how funny would it be if turned out to be playing with the under 14 team and hes been like 28 *

 

Will he not be banned for this game as he was sent off in the last league game of the season for the Under-19s for violent conduct.

 

Freddy Adu is the exact same, an older friend of mine watched him / scouted him a lot when he was younger and he was so much bigger and stronger than the rest of the players his age (he even had a * beard when he was like 13!!), there is no way he is as young as everyone says. Thats why he was touted as such a big prospect ... however the rest of the players "his age" caught up with his physically, and obviously he stopped growing because he was already whatever age, and thats why he struggles nowadays. He's in the Benfica reserves.

Birth certificates coming from Africa are very dodgy .. im not sure of the exact reason why ... but basically it is common for kids to be much much older than they already are.

 

The way I heard the rumour is some immigrants say their kids are younger than they actually are, because it helps their chances of not being humped out the country when they're below a certain age?

 

theres apparently loads of issues with some african kids not having the right birth certificate/ no birth certificate at all. also there is a rumour that obafemi martins doesnt know his birthday so doesnt know exaclty how old he is?

for a young lad he doesnt half get crucified on here
just leave him be, i can remember when i was 16 i thought i was the best thing since sliced bread

 

He looks good when I watch him on TV but when I've watched him in person he has failed to impress.
