Agree 110%. None of our strikers can win the header from a set piece. I think O'Connor could be a good signing if hes being considered:shamrock:

Neil Lennon has admitted he may be interested in signing striker Garry O’Connor under freedom of contract.

O’Connor is without a club after being released by Barnsley and is aiming to keep himself in shape while looking for a new club. The striker has now spent time training with Celtic and Lennon says he has been impressed but won’t make any decision over an offer yet.

"We have given him the use of the facilities as he's not played football for a while,” the Celtic manager said.

"He's a good boy and has trained very well.

"It's an option, I will think about it but it is not at the forefront of my mind at the minute."

The former Hibernian striker moved to Lokomotiv Moscow in 2006 but only spent a season in Russia, moving to Birmingham City for £2.7 million in 2007. Injuries disrupted the forward’s time at St Andrews, restricting him to 52 appearances in four years.

A loan spell at Barnsley saw O’Connor offered a permanent deal at Oakwell in January but after thirteen appearances his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.

Though free to sign for any club, O’Connor would not be able to be registered until the next transfer window opens at the end of the season.

Seems to me as if he's very injury prone though.

Think we have enough of those here already, with the likes of Maloney and McCourt.

We don't have many proper hard * at the club though.

We sold Barry Robson, that's it - finished.

Kayal & Brown are our only hard(ish) players, we are very poofy compared to many SPL teams, hence why ICT scared the * out of us.

O'Connor would go some way to rectifying that - if he was fit & on form.

Pritty much what I was thinking. If we could get him for nothing and keep him fit it could give us another option even bringing him off the pitch could be handy.

He was a massive Celtic fan at least until he signed for Hibs when he was about 16, probably still is. Was in my class at school.

    - is he a reject? or just it didnt work out for him
    - what does that matter if he can score in the spl?
    - he's played in russian cup finals etc?
    - there are so many reasons why a move cannot work for a good player, injuries, settling in, as a striker sometimes yer not on the wavelength of yer own team. whatever, they are i duno. But I wouldn't put it like that. The point of calling anyone who scores goals in the spl a reject of a leage english club is sort of irrelevant if they good enough for spl

It annoys me when people say this :31: :31:

Players that were our rejects have been good elswere & players we have brought in like larsson, sutton, tommo were all somebody's rejects

I liked him when he was at hibs, on a free if fit would be good bit of buisness for the SPL games.he has got to be a better option to bring on that murphy ffs & he knows how to score in the spl.

is he better than what we have? 4-5 years ago yes but not now, why is it everyone gets on board cause he is free?

he could end up on the phyiso's table all season or another freddy collecting a wage...

the guy is a walking sick note, his time has past

also why is it people say about larsson and sutton when people say rejects i mean FFS larsson and sutton done things before celtic played for big clubs and also sutton won a league aswell can't remember if lasrsson did at feyenoord? all o'conner done was get a big wage at a russian club.... then came home what has he done * all cause he is a sick note

also this is his record down the years

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garry_O'Connor

have a look at the goals, most he got in one season was 14 and thats was when he was ment to be at the top of his game in the SPL

he is no better than what we have
