We have a lot of quality players who can play in this position. And with Maloney back i find it quite difficult to choose who to play.

    We have:

    Commons
    Maloney
    McCourt
    Ljungberg
And maybe even Ledley could play there.

The all have their own quality's. Commons has a superb pass, cross and shot, while Maloney and McCourt are great individual players, who are always a threat. And then we also have Freddie Ljungberg, who has a lot of experience. He maybe lost some pace in the past few years, but he also brings creativity in the squad if he's playing.

Personally, I think I would pick Maloney because of his great attacking skills. He is always a threat. But it's also pretty harsh to leave Commons out of the team. He has done a really great job, scored important goals.
So maybe we could play Commons behind a lone striker (Hooper) and Maloney on the left... ?

    What are your thoughts?:shamrock:

Your forgetting Forrest has also played the majority of his games on the left. Which mean we've only got one out and out right winger really, McGinn. Well I suppose Forrest is a right winger. I would play Commons wide left as Maloney is finished at Celtic as far as I'm concerned with him constantly being injured.

Commons by a country mile. Maloney, Ljuneberg and McCourt are not good enough (Paddy mainly due to injury) and Ledley is an absolute must in CM.

Yeah you're right but i see Forrest more as a right wing player. But maybe I should have mentioned him indeed. Sorry for that:rolleyes:

Has to be Kris Commons, most of his performances for Celtic so far have been terrific, and he is also a real goal threat

Definately Commons for me, I think both Maloney and Paddy are better behind the strikers in a free role, that will let them use the individual skill they have. Having said that, I think Maloney is finished at Celtic, too injury prone

Heart says Forrest, McCourt or Maloney

Head says its got to be Commons, yes he's had a dry spell recently (aside from the weekend) but he's played crackin and turned my opinion of him right around.

When he signed I said (and still do believe) that we only signed him to gazump the Huns who needed him a whole lot more (we already had, as the thread shows and I was red in the face telling people at the time, 5 other wingers - paddy, maloney, ljungberg, forrest, mcginn, essentially competing for one wingers slot as broony had made right mid his own, and others who can play wide - cha, broony, ledley. :50:

As I said though he's turned me into liking him through playing so well !

ledley is best in the middle, mccourt's overall game is nowhere near the standard of maloney or commons, freddie is too slow.

i think maloney is a better player, but commons seems to score more and that can be vital. so i went for commons.

Maloney is better in a more central role I think, that leaves space for Commons on the left. So I think maloney may be a luxury player, to be placed against "weaker" teams in the place of maybe Ledley. Therefore we can still have 2 up top and two central midfielders of Kayal and Brown(Drifting right).

Commons as 1st choice , Maloney as backup ..... simple.

Commons for me, it's his natural side and he could open a tin of peas with that left foot.

Would like to see McCourt given an extended run on the right at the same time.
