Really hoping we just sell Sammy on in the summer and the new contract was just something to get us a little bit more money in the deal. he just doesnt bring enough to the team in any aspects imo. Thoughts?

2 goals all season and can really only play upfront himself, yes its a big mistake and i said even after his 2 goals at ibrox lets move him on and get someone who will score goals

    i'd rather have neither.

the game at the bigotdome was a one off, he was brilliant that day but in the games since what has he actually done? some flashes of the ability he undoubtedly has but i'd happily never see him in hoops again. the front 2 again showed what they're capable of last night, unless we picvk up injuries Samantha shouldn't be anywhere near the starting 11.

Some people talk an unbelievable amount of pish. Just because he doesn't play well in a partnership with hooper or stokes does not make him a bad player. He would be valuable in Europe in a 451 as we would get pumped playing 442 in europe.

Samaras is a good option to have. That's what his contracted was extended on I believe, as an option for ourselves.

hes not particularly good at playing as a lone striker, he's just better at it than stokes and hooper. do you not think we could sell sammy in the summer and buy someone who is better equipped to play as a lone striker who is also capable to partner either stokes or hooper if one got injured?

    Leave Sammy alone :54:

Really get sick off sammy bashing. He is a tic man through and through and will be very useful squad player for the rest of this season and next.

Sammy has almost by himself won us 6 point with his goals vs. the huns.
Those 6 points are the most valuable we earned this season. I cant see us winning by more than 5+ so Sammy will be key to us winning the title if we do.

Im ill so that may be hard to interpret :52:

He is well suited to the lone striker role, big strong, good touch and he can work the channels very well. Samaras' biggest strength is bringing the midfield into play.

It's frustrating as * when we are playing the wee teams and need quick interplay between our strikers (see last night for an example) but when we need a counter attacking 1 upfront style he is the man.

Every time I have seen him play that role he has done it to perfection. I'm delighted we signed him just because he would fit the Huns style of play perfectly.

He has repeatadly stated it, if you here him talking about the fans he's took the club to heart in a similar way to the way Boruc did.

we cant go through a season with only two strikers and murphy as back up. I think samaras should only get a chance if hooper or stokes get injured. In fact, next season i would rather have rasmussen as back up, then samaras.

I'm going to trust Lenny's judgement on this.

He is extremely frustrating when playing as part of a front two, but plays well as a lone striker, just because we don't play with a lone striker all that often doesn't mean we don't need someone who can play that way.

I'd prefer a more consistent player but I have no problem having him in the squad, I'm more surprised he actually wants to stay at Celtic considering the amount of personal abuse that gets thrown his way.

with the glut of games coming up we cant expect to see Hooper and stokes play 90 mins in every game, with this in mind we need Samaras either starting or coming off the bench, he's due a run of goals in the league.

last thing i want to see is murphy think i'd go for Keating ahead of him.

He's been due a run of goals in the league since 2008,or whenever it was that he got that injury that put him out.Remember the way he was playing before that?Goals galore..
He hasn't done anything to deserve a 3 year contract,or even to still be here since then.
I'm genuinely gutted when I see he's starting. It makes me angry.I just want it to be over, let's get a decent striker who can score goals and actually perform without tripping up over the ball and landing on his * and just sitting there looking around flailing his arms around expecting something.Hes a donkey.I've never been that harsh on him but it's time to stop pussyfooting or kidding ourselves on,Samaras has been pathetic for far too long and it's an outrage,a complete outrage he's started against the pigs before our top goalscorer.
