Broon is a dominating player. He easily shrugs off challenges after he gets going and is superb defensively in the midfield. That's why he and Kayal are in the team. That is why it has been very hard for the diddy teams this season to even make it through to our defenders - they get stopped in them midfield first. And that is what should be happening. That's why we got in so much trouble last season. I also think he is getting better going forward. Especially when you look at his cup performances this season. He deserves to wear the hoops. He is a much much much better player now than when we took him from Hibernian. He also has been in the hoops long enough now to really know what it means to play for Celtic, and that's why he is still the captain. Hats off to broon. He's one of my fav players right now.

Out on the right, he's been totally transformed imo. In CM we need calmness and I think Kayal, Ledley and Ki bring that. At RM he can harness his boundless energy bombing up and down the wing. Been great this season (out right anyway).

In answer to your question, yes. Last season I would have been glad to see him go but under Lennon he is a different player. He is like Lennon on the pitch and clearly Lenny has spend time with him. He is now our general on the park. What he did to Diouf in the old firm game was something only he could have done in this team, he made him his *. My regard for this player has grown ten-fold in recent times. With such a strong midfield he had a choice, level up or sit on the bench? He answered in the correct manner and deserves his place within the team.

would disagree with loads on here, regarding brown, at £5 million and is not a rated player, the same mold as Lennon, I never liked Lennon much as a player, maybe he is then, in the same mold as Lennon, as at times Celtic played as if they too had 9 men on the park, yes he can run but not with the ball, chase after it yes, when its his first touch and attempt to trap it, but when it comes to getting the ball up the park, don't be looking to Brown, to be that man he would rather it was a left back that punted the ball up the park than him, that way you will not be able to see how little skill he really has at doing that, i would say we would get better results from him, if he was put at right back, that way his pass back to the keeper would win him applause, more often in my eyes. and the rest on here would be singing his praises more.

last night was brown's worst performance this season he didnt create any good play, the passes were really bad always behind the player which then slowed the play down.
the thing is lennon will never drop brown no matter how bad he plays because he is captain he is good at being a captain but there are other players that could do the same job.

true mate , i think that joe ledley could do a good job aswell :) brown just needs to calm down and think off his actions before he does them and he might get on alot better and become a better player and captain.

I reckon he has improved this season, well since moving out on the right. I seem to remember, think it was November/December time when he was out injured we were really missing him, drawing a lot of games, and generally not playing well. Then he came back and stupidly but undeservedly got sent of against Motherwell and missed the new years' old firm game, thankfully we won that one but the commentators didnt stop reminding us how many games we lost/drew when Brown was out!

IMO his leadership skills on the pitch are vital for us, you always see him communicating with the other bhoys and barking out orders, something I dont really think Ledley would do, although I do agree he does need to calm down as he is a hot head and will cost us games if he gets sent off

Not sure if hes improved much but he's been much more effective out on the right, hes not an out and out winger and nor is he brilliant goin forward but because of his defensive capabilities and his workrate he gives the team a good balance, plus he links up well with wilson.

Completely disagree with the OP, hes now an integral part of our team and the way we play, lenny knows this hence why he picks him.

Brown has had a really good season compared to the last two which were difficult for him. He is a far better asset out wide than through the middle and contributes more. I dont think he is suited to the captaincy, but then again there is a lack of a real leader in the team. Perhaps if Kayal had been here from the start he may have got it.

Last night Brown had his poorest match for some time, in the second half anyway, and he was back to his old self with misplaced passes, getting caught on the ball and generally being slack.

In all fairness though, he has been much improved and the midfield of Brown Kayal Ledley and Commons for me is the strongest at the club and in the country

Plenty of perspiration but little inspiration.

Limited and clumsy and it will never change, we have better options available.

My Dad loved Bertie Auld, and although he's an immortal, Broony reminds my old man of him. I think he's a real Celtic player now.

brown would be in my team but can,t see any thing of bertie in him , bertie could be dirty, cheeky, indisciplined but by * he was a player one of europes finest midfielders .

If Scott Brown leaves Celtic and goes to another team no matter who that team may be, he will NOT accomplish much if anything, in reality thats how he is at Celtic.
No offense but Scott Brown and Bertie Auld should not even be in the same sentence in a discussion!

He was pish last season when Mowbray was manager (but so were most of the players) but I think he's been playing well this season. So from last season there has been an improvement.

I think he's been a good player for us this season.

Has Scott Brown improved since he came back from that injury?

    Yes. Quite simple really.
