I not sure what everyone's opinion on this is, if he should be on a rolling or handed a 3/4 year deal. Either way though I think the board need to have a word with him about his behaviour or (perceived behaviour) being sent of in friendly in the middle of his domestic ban did not do him any favours and makes him a bigger target.

Granted the ref was a puddin and Neil Lennon often gets the wrong end of the stick. I feel its becoming very hard to defend his actions at times, I think he has to calm it a little to progress as a manager and help Celtic progress also. There is not much he can do from the stand and I hope he manages to keep himself in the dugout more often

He does get picked on and it will be interesting to see how Ally is treated on his Hamden hearing, but the worse thing is for him to believe he is getting picked on ! That way he will become more ratty with everyone and he will react more.

I honestly feel that this ban when its served wont change the fact that for good or for bad we can expect our manager to be sitting in the stand for at least 4/6 weeks of most seasons

I blame Reid & Lawwell. They should have a firmer hand on Neil's shoulder. The man has the weight of the world on his shoulders. We all are obsessed with winning the league this year....I think he feels he wont be given time otherwise. The huns are threatening to shoot him and he also loves Celtic as much as any of us. Far too much pressure for a "rookie" manager.

The senior management i.e Reid and Lawwell need to support him practically and publicly. Look at the backroom staff....Big Johan and Thompson would hardly constitute a calming influence.

    Agree with this 100%,

Its going to be hard for Lennon to hand out fines to his own players for red cards when he himself has the worst disciplinary record at the club

But what did he actually do ?

If he disagreed with a wrongful decision then that is hardly worthy of this latest outcry.

Is there any video footage ?

would like to see lenny delegate the touchline stuff to mjallby or Thompson ,keeps lenny safe from the powers that be, also means when he does have a rant at the players they know he means it.

Agree totally, there has been a sense of injustice in his treatment in Scotland, but there is no doubt he is a fiery character and is rubbing referees up the wrong way. We can hardly say he is being picked on in a foreign country.

The time in the stand may allow him to reflect on his behaviour. As much as I love Neil, (as much as anyone on here), I want him to be a manager for the club, and not a supporter on the touchline. We are all supporters, he needs to be above that.

We are also forgetting his young age for a manager as well.

Apparently he gave the Ref a medley of choice swear words at what he thought was a wrong decision and then the Ref said he noticed him giving the fourth official constant grief and claimed he was being disrespectful.

Think things getting on top of Lenny at the moment with all these threats, constant media scrutiny and being a manager of a club whose fans expect the best and rightly so.

Feel sorry for him, the pressure he must be under would drive the best of us over the edge but he wouldn't be doing his case any favours with this type of behaviour in a friendly match in another country. :shamrock:

    Seen this in teh evening times;
"Freddie Ljungberg, who was booked for dissent as he played his first full 90 minutes since joining the club, said: “I spoke to the Athletic players, and they were laughing because the ref is well know for that kind of behaviour.”
Looks like the ref has a habit of being a joke.

On Lennon's behaviour, he does have to simmer down a bit and choose his battles wisely. Sometimes he can maybe take things a bit far and imo the majority of the time he has every right to air his greivances. He will learn these things eventually, but needs to learn these sooner rather than later.
