I think Joe Ledley's performance is one of the positives we can take from the cup final. His work-rate was absolutely fantastic and he was one of few players who looked hungry for success.

I've got to admit when Ledley starting playing regularly in the Celtic team, I wasn't sure what all the fuss was about - I thought he failed to make a real impact in matches, put his mark on games and was very quiet at times. That made me watch him closely in games and I realised he barely put a foot wrong, he was described as 'quiet but efficient' by most and I think that was about right.

Recently though, I think Ledley has been outstanding and not just because he's added goals to his game. He does a key job for the team defensively, he's always tracking back and helping out the defence and he never runs out of steam.

He's getting into some very dangerous position in the final third as well, there's no doubt he would have added more goals to his game this season if he hadn't been so unlucky and had been picked out better by his team-mates. Not to mention his passing as well, which is always very tidy.

I still think his best position is on the left though. He's got a sweet left-foot which allows him to put some fantastic balls into the box for our strikers. I don't think our service from out wide has been that great and you can see the difference when Ledley's at left midfield.

Playing at left midfield allows him to get into advanced positions more often and he's proving now that he's capable in the final third. Not just that, he's filled in at left back quite a few times, so he's also capable of covering in defence when Izaguirre goes bombing forward.

Whether he plays in the middle or on the left, I think we've got a great player on our hands here, who knows what it means to be playing for a club like Celtic. Keep it up Joe.

    I agree.
The thing about him is i have very rarely seen him at fault and he works tirelessly, your spot on abt his passing full marks from me. About him playing left mid i would also agree, commons is very greedy and although he scores good goals he is often very in effective, were as joe would pass and track back all day, he definately a player who is as you say "quetly effective" but more ppl are starting to notice his qualities, and rightly so. :50:

He plays the Busquets role for us, which may not be the most glamorous or creative of roles, but it is hugely important and allows other players like Kayal more freedom to play their aggressive style of football in midfield. Joe is always there to break up play and dictate the tempo of the game with his tidy play.

I have always rated Ledley since he signed and could not understand the criticism he was getting before Christmas. In my opinion along side Izaguirre he has been one of our most consistent performers.

He's been superb recently, he's really come out of his shell and his workrate is ridiculously good.

His performances sometimes go unnoticed, and he took a bit of undeserved stick earlier in the season in my opinion.

Great player who makes good runs beyond the strikers, as proved in the last couple of games.

It's good that we seem to have goals coming from midfield just now, something that has been lacking over the past few seasons.

He has turned up when we needed him time and again, despite being wrongly tagged 'the invisible man'.

A midfield of Ledley and Kayal will win us this league.

nah the person at mistake for the first goal was the keeper who took 3 hours to go down for what was basically a backpass from davis.

Ledley is a good player but one bad performance from him and one good performance from Ki will have the majority of posters in favour of a Ki/Kayal partnership. Players need to be judged on how they perform over a season. This is not a criticism of Ledley who I think is a good player.

I agree Ledley has done well this season and was probably the only player that turned up on Sunday. :50:

Ledley was without a doubt our best player on Sunday. Forster as well, made some top saves. But Ledley, imo, was one of very few Celtic players that looked hungry and I expect to see more of the same. Keep it up Joe:50:
