    That is good news !!:50:
But, if we get inflated EPL prices, then it would only be prudent to sell the player concerned.

It's a big "hands off!" in reply to the paper talk abotu EPL clubs sniffing around, if someone wants to come in with crazy money then I'm sure the club will still think about it, but after coming out and saying this it will have to be that, CRAZY MONEY, which is fine by me.

If andy carrol (who?) can go for £35mil then we can get a fair few bob for our star performers. Not that we need the money.

Neil Lennon is a man of his word, so this is fantastic news in my eyes.

I wasn't meaning that player's would aim to see out the rest of their careers at Celtic, I was refering to the summer transfer window as most fans seem concerned that's when any of our players might leave and I don't think the likes of Hooper, Kayal and Iziguirre would jump at the first offer, but even if they did, it's the club that hold the contract and decide who goes where and I'd say that it would take silly money to make the club budge on any of them.

Why sell Kayal in the summer for £10 when in another year or two, he could be worth twice that?

Very nice to hear Lenny say this, however, I don't think the final decision will just be his. If a fantastic offer comes in for a player for example Emilio who we spent approx £400,000 on and we get an offer of £10million, I think we will take it considering the £9million debt figure, that would wipe it out.

Even if there is a silly offer on the table for one of our top players I think it should be down be down to the player whether he stays or goes, I mean I dont think they should be forced out of the club!!

Because they've seen with Boruc that keeping a player when his stock was at it's highest doesn't mean he'll even retain a third of his value 12 months later..
Im convinced the end of the Strachan era through the Mowbray era has changed the boards thinking.. From the moment John Reid taunted the huns that they were a selling club , we then went and became a club that gave players comfort zones at our clubs expense.. resulting in Boruc going cheap , Naka , JVOH , Hartley all being freed.. I don't think we'll see players be allowed to have that much power again even though it was probably the club calling the shots and not renewing contracts..
Im not saying players are definately going to be sold to every high bid that comes in , and I'd like to think that if we do sell one of them for something like £8m in the summer then it would almost certainly prevent the sale of others happening.. I just think people who take it literally that no players will be sold at any price are being naive.. Can you imagine the fallout with threads saying lenny the liar should be sacked because he went back on his word.. People should just accept that clubs sell players and not to be surprised when/if Kayal/Izzy/Hooper are sold on..

jiko this is not a cattle market where is the commitment to a club if you as a player cannot believe that celtic is like no other club then shut the door at your back we are unique

It doesn't matter if the player wants to stay.. Kenny miller wanted to stay but £3m was accpted and he was told get on your bike..
Petrov wanted away and he got sold for good money..
    Gravesen was paid to leave..

All guys who contributed in big games for us early in their Celtic careers but all left in different circumstances..

Just because Kayal/Hooper/Izzy are young and Celtic could have years of them in the same team doesn't mean it will happen.. The SPL isn't a league for making money through tickets and sponsorship.. Only a decent run in the CL can make us money and Celtic will have to weigh up the value between any offers to sell , against what the value is to hold onto player with a view to bringing in money through success.. It's a balancing act and definately not a case of just holding onto them simply to show ambition.. I'd be happier for all the players to stay and generate money through success but Im not swallowing the line that players will not be sold..
You can if you wish to..
