    Your not being ignorant:56:
Did you see Reading when they were in the premiership?
Thats when he kinda started to cement his place in the team but just recently has he been scoring a lot.
His record isnt the best but he has been hitting form recently... I think his record is something like 160 games and 35 goals? for reading and 17 games for ireland and 5 goals for them... He's 5 foot 11 and single handedly ruined Stephen Elliots international career:56: He got in ahead of him because elliot was injured and i havent seen him since:56:

He'd be a great signing in my opinion, always impresses when he plays for Ireland and he's doing the business at Reading.

True but Long is a better playing imo and he gets more games for ireland than Stokesy and if Hooper played the same amount of games as Stokes im sure he would have scored the same amount or more

To be honest, never really seen him play, does he get a regular game there? Or is he a bit of a bench warmer?

He definetely gets regular game time at Reading.

By the way does anyone know if he's a Celtic fan because that could be used to our advantage if we choose to go for him (which I hope we do)

Overall yes. But if you consider that most of his goals have been scored very recently then he becomes an all together different prospect. Stats don't tell you everything.

Maybe so but he has a fair way to go to prove he is a goalscorer. He is still only averaging 1 in 3 this season. In a poor standard of league as well. However, he may be better in a better team. He would get more chances with us. It would largely depend on his wages if he was worth signing imo.

I agree with you in some respects but I disagree that it is a poor standard league. Regardless what you think of the league I think that ours is very similar in level. I do agree however that they are a mid table team and with us he would definitely get more chances. It's down to whether he wants to play in the Premiership(money) or he wants to play for Celtic.

Would love him, especially on a free. If we could get Westward on a free too, that would leave Lenny just a centre back to locate, assuming we hold on to the current players he wants. Maybe hold on to Sammy, punt Murphy, Rassa, Loovens & Hooiveld?

You have to take into account that most of those appearance were from the bench when he was behind kevin doyle. Doyle left last year and since he broke into the team he has scored nearly 30 goals since. Not a bad wee player but I prefer Stokes.
