I must admit the ENG v IRE game was thrilling, i was happy for the Irish because i'm confident enough that we'll qualify. In fact the only games that have had a bit of drama have been all the ENGLAND games, without sounding arrogant (Nothing to be arrogant about btw :D ) This WC has been VERY UNDERWHELMING and i can only HOPE it hots up, QUICKLY!

I agree it's poinltess having teams like Kenya and Canada if they're just gonna get skittled for less than 100.

bowled pakistan out for 184 so a good team on their day but clearly nowhere near the standard of the test playing nations

I think it's pointless having teams like Bangladesh, whose fans can't even stone the right team bus.

I mean OK, their team got castled for 58 runs, but at least they managed to bowl at the correct wicket. :56:

going to make a call, and this isn't me being biased but; Australia to win the World Cup with out loosing a game! Tait and Lee are sending down lightening bolts, and Mike Hussey looks like he will be making a return to the squad, Watson, Haddin, Ponting, Clarke are all on fire with the bat!

As much as I'd like to share your optimism regarding the Aussies chances of retaining the Cup yet again, let alone undefeated, that's a tall order. Would be delighted to be proven wrong by the current batch of players, but to say the least, there will be conditions they will encounter in this tournament that are not going to be quite as favourable. Will wait and see... It's still early days.

For me it's between SA, IND and SRI. I'm going to back INDIA to win it on home soil!

Ireland going well againhst IND, they're a ver respectable 200-8 off 46.4 overs

Bangledesh beat England, South Africa squeak a narrow one over India & even Australia made to work to get past Kenya... This has to be one of the better World Cup tournaments thus far, all things considered.

    India v Australia
    New Zealand v South Africa

Have you guys had the rumour floating around the Ponting will retire from International cricket at the end of the WC? I don't think he will, but surely if he doesn't make one good score this tournament there will be people calling for his head

Australia knocked out, despite Ponting ton... no 4th consecutive World Cup. :54:

In all honesty, it was never really likely to happen... Not the power the once were & there are some very strong & better balanced sides out there.
