Mulgrew on the wing? Why? And I don't believe a reasonable explanation exists, but please...

Starting to get really excited about this game now.

To win we are going to have to fight hard all day long, put the wee rat Miller on his * in the first 5 mins, then again if he comes back for more. Same goes for Davis, don't give him a second on the ball

Only other real threats i see coming from them is probably from whittakers mazey runs, or maybe Edu if he plays.

I'm not sure what our best 11 is for this game due to injuries, suspensions and Ki/Cha away, but i reckon we need Kayal to perform well, he isn't afraid to get stuck in, and has a good pass on him.

This could be Paddy's big chance, and i would love for him to have a good game and score a trademark McCourt wonder goal.

I would expect to see Stokes up top, but maybe even Sammy with him, just hope we find the goals from somewhere!

Sammy played really well as a lone striker in the World Cup.

Really well? Did he score? No, because he never ever scores, and for a lone striker that is criminal.

Sammy has to go, but I don't understand how he became so * after the 2008 season.

He's played there plenty with Aberdeen, he has a good delivery & offers more protection than Forrest.

My formation was set out to play Wattie at his own game - pack midfield, frustrate & hit on the counter, use set pieces.

Mulgrew is good at set pieces.

We must play a lone striker. And sammy will be better than stokes at playing as a lone striker.

i think that would firm up our defence and midfield with mulgrew left mid to protect the back and centre when izzy goes forward ,mccourt being the creative influence centre mid will be pushin the huns back with his runs ,this is were we can be vulnerable to counters from them ,it basically gives us an extra man in the back or midfield.
sammy will probably be our only option as a lone striker as stokes dont show he can do this,i would also play mcginn right side mid /winger if freddie not singed, i think he has pace to get in behind and has a good shot on him .
my thoughts on a system ,pick away :celt_2:. hail hail

No, he didn't score against Argentina, one of the best footballing nations in the world. But against Glasgow Rangers maybe it's worth a punt. If we do play a lone striker then it has to be Samaras, Stokes is a better all round player but Samaras suits that role more, he can hold up the ball.

    Forster
    Wilson Rogne Maj Izza
    Forrest Kayal Ljunberg Ledley McCourt
    Stokes

Stokes isn't the best as lone striker but could easily grab a goal.

    .....................Forster
    ...Wilson....Rogne....Maj......Izzy
    ........Juarez......Kayal....Ledley
    .......Forest......Stokes.....McCourt

Ledley should toughen up a wee bit as i fear he will get a fright at the ferocity of the match.

4-3-3 with forest and mccourt dropping back to midfield when needed. Really hope forest and mccourt can run at that scum.

2-1. It wont be easy but im confident

Kapo if fit , or Freddie

    Sammy

Left paddy on the bench as feel young james can offer more support to izzy both in attack and covering him , same with Juarez with Wilson ,
