My own view of the tricolor is its a huge part of what Celtic means to me.

The deceased team doesn't even come into it.

Even an admin can't help but claim we are an Irish club. What is so hard with grasping that we are a Scottish club with significant Irish heritage? Why is that not enough for some people?

you used the fact the the Lions were all Scottish as some kind of barometer that we are indeed Scottish. Completely ignoring the fact that it's just 11 guys, at least one of whom agrees with me.

Yet you scoff at my claim that hundreds of thousands... nay millions view us as an Irish club?

-Celtic was established in Glasgow, Scotland
-Celtic's stadium was and is in Glasgow, Scotland
-The majority of Celtic's fan-base is either Scottish or ex-pat Scots
-The vast majority of Celtic fans who go to home games live in Scotland
-Celtic represents Scotland in all UEFA competitions
-Celtic has played in the Scottish football leagues since 1890, 123 years ago
-Celtic's greatest ever manager was Scottish
    -Celtic's greatest ever goal scorer
-The Lisbon Lions were all born in a 30 mile radius of Celtic Park, in Scotland

    That'll do for starters.

So you admit apart from that there is nothing Scottish about Celtics identity.

Because there is absolutely nothing in the clubs make up that says we are Scottish apart from we are in Scotland.

Is Abdul from my local corner shop Scottish because he resides here?

If he feels Scottish, then I'm not going to tell him he isn't.

But he doesn't. And Celtic doesn't show any Scottishness at all. Ever. How does Celtic feel Scottish?

    vs

-Brother Walfrid, the club's founder was Irish
    -We wave tricolours

Convincing argument. As for hypothetical Abdul, he's not Scottish if he wasn't born (or established even) in Scotland. If he was born (or established even) in Scotland, he is Scottish. Regardless of where he was born, he should be 100% welcome in Scottish society and can be as patriotic of Scotland or any nation as he likes. If Abdul from Pakistan (for example) set up a football club in Glasgow, he would have every right to be proud of his Pakistani roots but that club would still be Scottish.

Haha, now you're telling hypothetical shop owners how they should feel as well as Celtic fans.

    Remarkable.
