Just because you sing Irish songs doesn't mean you think you are Irish. That is just nonsense hun rhetoric.

Also, I don't get this 'plastic paddy' *. You wouldn't call Scottish people with say Pakistani parents a 'plastic *.' It seems everyone is allowed to celebrate their roots unless it's Irish roots.

I'm not going to either agree or disagree with that because the whole "plastic paddy" thing is a * can of worms and I frankly can't be arsed with it any more.
There are many proud Scots who are even prouder of their Irish heritage, just like there are a few teenage fannies who like grafitting "up the ra" on toilet doors without knowing any history. Sadly the majority of non-Celtic public view both these groups as one and the same.

Also, it is not a surprise to me that more Scottish Celtic fans express "Irishness" than actual Irish citizens do. After all, if you're Irish you don't really need to shout about it, you just are!

If Celtic had been formed in Ireland by a Scottish priest then we would be playing our home games in Dublin and waving saltires en masse, make no mistake about it.

No * sherlock. Not sure what point you're trying to make there tbh mate.

That is though a good point. I think it's because racism is basically seen as being white against black and brown. Most white people believe that you can't really be racist against other white people. Hence Poles, Irish, Gypsies, Romanians, Italians can have as much insults thrown at them as possible, but most white people are scared to even talk to a non-white person for fear of racism. Hence "paddy" or "jock" being friendly banter but "*" being a shocking use of racist language, despite linguistically both terms being very similar.

Good to see you missed your own point.

How is a person wearing a kilt at a Scotland game trying too hard to be Scottish?

Unless of course it's * Idi Amin :smiley-laughing002::smiley-laughing002::rolleyes:

We have just as many good guys/wanks in Ireland as any other country and our culture is just as good/bad as any other country.
