Today was one of the worst atmospheres I've ever heard at any football ground ever.
    And naw, I wasn't there.

It was bad, not a massive deal but not doing the COYBIG back and forth early in the 2nd half is a stupid decision if permanent.

Apart from all the other SPL games today. And pretty much every EPL game last season...

On the TV (maybe I'm wrong) all to heard was the Green Brigade. It was so obviously one small section singing. The one single bit of singing outwith the GB I heard was the COYBIG chant.

Wasn't the best but still id say it was better than 99/100 games you'll see. Was only 4/5 years ago when you could hear a guy sitting in the opposite stand from you biting his pie.

Aye I know, I was being ridiculous, it was the worst I've heard at CP past two seasons maybe. A bit of a fairer assessment.

Or perhaps a better way of putting it is that, for such a momentous occasion i.e our first flag raiser for four years,it was a poor atmosphere?

Well this is it mate. It wasn't a * atmosphere on a Wednesday night in January, it was Flag Day. Not to mention it was an early August Saturday! I'm just a little worried today might set the tone for the season ahead.

You can't judge an atmosphere purely by watching it on TV, it largely depends on the location of their microphones etc. I thought the atmosphere was good today, and better than a lot of the SPL games last season.

True, even the second half of the HJK game was slightly disappointing atmosphere wise, in the 2nd half anyway. I won't * about it again but reserving COYBIG for the 1st half and singing nothing other than very very slow renditions of Cellllllllllllltic, He's Charlie Mulgreeeeeeeeeeeew or Rangers bye byeeeeeeeeeeeeee won't help. On another note, I think JCGE is nearing the end of its impact also.

Too much pressure on the GB I think. Every other stand just sits there so I appreciate every single thing the GB do. Guys around me trying to sing and it's just loads of auld
    dudes tutting and whining.

Mate, the GB sang a LOT more than those. Off the top of my head, Hail Hail, Aidan MacAnespie, COYBIG, JCGE, Zombie Nation, Wanyama, Mulgrew, Slow Celtic chant, Stokesy, PMFA, Don't Sell McCourt, No Limit, Discoland, LTPS plus probably loads more I can't remember. Credit where it's due ffs. You sing.

If you think Zombie Nation, Mulgrew, Slow Celtic chant, Don't Sell McCourt, No Limit, Discoland, all chav tunes etc are what will generate a good atmosphere then we are two completely different people. Also what's annoying is the IRA add ons after Graffiti on the waaaaaaaall, completely not neccessary and the rest of the stadium cringes/ignores it. I'm not denying they didn't sing a lot of songs and some are very good, just they have some work to do and I agree it's also up to others to sing but personally I feel a culture of constantly waiting on the GB to orchestrate things is permanent.

It's hard building up a good atmosphere when you're watching one of the shittest and most boring games ever. The better Celtic play the better the atmosphere.

I don't listen to what you call "Chav" music but I'd guess a lot of the young guys in and around 111 love dance music and there's nothing wrong with that at all. I think labelling it Chav music says more about yourself than it does about the folk singing the songs. It may not create an atmosphere in the same way as YNWA etc but you can't sing tear jerking ballads for 90 minutes. The dance tunes are a great way of keeping things up-tempo and fun, and personally I don't have a problem with the add ons but that's another debate. If yourself and others like you are busy labelling what the GB do as "Chav" then no wonder the atmosphere suffers. Join in, write your own chants/songs that you like and get your mates etc to get the crowd into them. Make your own banners, create your own group that doesn't sing "Chav" music. It's oh so easy to criticise while doing * all. Depressing attitude tbh.
