Ledley - Should he be in the starting 11?

Hope this doesnt get locked, i know there is already a poll on him but I have noticed in recent weeks thats people have changed their minds and would like to see peoples opinions on him now.

Just going to be about if you think he should be in the starting 11 when we have a full squad with Juarez, Ki, Brown, Kayal, Towwell, Crosas also fighting for a place.

so Yes or No.

this is NOT about if he is good enough for celtic.

 

hes our best player.

 

Personally I think KI is our best centre mid, Ledley is a ghost for large parts of each game.

they're a good partership, they need somebody like a brown in with them though imo.

 

how so? Tell me what he adds to the team?

 

Don't like brown but agree that we need a hard midfield thats not scared to put in a challenge.

 

The same that Lennon added to the team.. And back in the day I can remember Lennon getting booed by the Celtic support at CP and getting slated for weeks for not bringing anything to the team

 

Ledley hasn't played anywhere near his best for us for the simple reason that Lennon has restricted him, when he played for Cardiff you'd see him breaking off the midfield and getting 20-25 goals a season and he's got what 2-3 goals so far. At the start of the season he was getting forward in great positions and no one passed to him too.

 

I disagree. Lennon was brilliant because he broke down opposing attacks and kept our midfield flowing. He had bundles of energy and unlike Brown he actually put that energy to good use. So far what i have seen from Ledley he does nothing like that.

 

Ledley scored 26 goals in 6 seasons at Cardiff mate.

He has been average as muck.

 

we need to be playing 3 in our midfield and ledley has been poor,drop and give kapo a run in with ki and juraez

 

Ledley brings a lot to the team that goes unnoticed I do think he's not playing at his best just now like the rest of the team, maybe he isn't compatible with Ki, who knows but he had a brilliant start to the season next to Brown, and I'm more than confident that Ledley will go on to be a very important player for us not just this season but in seasons to come as well. And Lennon was very unrated by a large section of the Celtic support for the first few years of his playing career with us, he was booed at times which was shocking.

 

drop him he has not been playing well, and would show that he needs a kick up the *, and show no-one is save from the chop (if you play under par your droped and show your good enought to get picked again) but i dont see it happening cause he is another one of lennon's golden boys and is on 25k a week......

 

lennon and ledley are different players altogether mate, lennon was a CDM ledley is a LM playing as a CM

 

25K a week. That is ridiculous. Ledley should be bursting a gut for us for that salary.

 

yeah him and brown earn the most, ledley's agent demanded that for him and no other prem team like stoke and co wanted to pay 25k a week for him so thats why he signed for us......

 

My point was he does a lot of the dirty work Lennon done that goes largely unnoticed. He has been one of our better players this season by a mile, but he's going to be one of those player that divides supporters opinions. Give the guy a chance he is still young as well and certainly has a lot more to offer.
