Falkirk will be without suspended midfielder duo Liam Craig and Stephen O'Donnell, while Craig Ireland and Graham Barrett remain injured.

The Bairns failed with appeal against Craig's red card at Hibs when he was dismissed from the substitute's bench.

Celtic striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink will miss out with an ankle injury sustained last weekend.

Fit-again Craig Beattie is challenging Kenny Miller and Maciej Zurawski for a place up front.

I pretty much agree with the above team selection.

I wouldn't play Maloney up fornt for the sake of playing him but its a good selection anyways.

I'd have Beattie up there for the aerial threat with miller or maloney

I reckon rest Naka, Artur and Magic put Malone on the left (because of his shot), move McGeady over to the right (where he did really well when he came on as a sub in the cup game), put Beattie up front (closest we have to JVOH) and either keep Kenny on or rest him and put Riordan beside him. I have this sneaking feeling that Riordan could be our new Larsson in waiting-a good semi-wide man who can be converted into a brilliant out-and-out striker. Just a hunch. Give Bobo and Jarosic half an hour if things go well.

    Marshall

    Telferio Caldwell Mick Naylor

    Aidenio Lennon Shrek Shaun

    Beattie Kenny or 'Deeks'

    Hail! Hail!

Beattie and Miller up front imo. Better combination than Magic-Miller.

    3-0 celtic

i'd say 3-0. (Miller, McGeady & Naka) but i'm not too sure. And i quite like the table at the top but not sure if Maloney will be playin.

I'm hoping for the bhoys to be at least a few goals up by half-time(0-2/3)Coz If we get the first goal in the first-10/15-mintues I can see the bhoys going on and scoring a fgew goals in the process

    Falkirk 0 Celtic 3

    Boruc
    Telfer,Caldwell,McManus,Naylor
    Nakamura,Gravesen,Lenny,McGeady
    Maloney,Miller

I can see Wee Shaun+Miller causing Falkirk a lot of trouble with there pacy+touch as well,There is no doubt the bhoys will miss JVOH height for this game as the bhoys had plenty chances to beat Rangers+FC Copenhagen by much more goals but A win is a win no-matter what!!!

Will GS play with Shaun up-front with his contract hanging right over his head!! and now with the papers getting the story as well!!

    Falkirk 0 Celtic 3
    Miller,Gravesen,Maloney

The problem is the front line, no height and no phsycial strength. Cross the ball and who'll attack it

being part celtic / falkirk fan :(
    i am confused lol!! :D

pacey strikers would cause the falkirk defence alot, tho in all fairness kenny wud beat the guy then hit it wide, falkirk will play the same way they did with hibs, but with vitor lima instead of o'donnel (i hope cos thompson is *)

it was a 3-0 pounding last year at the TFS, i still see 2-0 to celtic, but it will be a very very tough game for celtic,

If we want to keep the classic big man-wee man striker combination we have to play Beattie when JVOH is crocked. Shaun is a great player but, if used as a striker, the words 'mind yer * on they steps' will spring to mind when a cross ball comes over. See if Beattie picks up where he left off a year ago, he will be some player-tall, fast and a natural goalscrer.

    Agreed:50:
Beattie looks a natural replacement for JVoH.

Hi greendave. No, its more obscure than that. Keltoi is the earliest recorded form of the work 'Celts'. It was used by Greek historians writing in the 5th and 4th centuries BC about the Celts or Kelts in west-central Europe. I am a bit of a history buff and into all things Celtic/ Keltic-history, traditional music, Gaelic language etc. It links the club's name with a word that is at least 2500 years old. Apparently the club name originally was pronounced 'Keltic' and that B. Walfrid is known to have preferred the 'K' pronunciation which is the historically correct one. The 'C' pronunciation is based on an error but I am not about to start a campaign to change it back lol
