Celtic and Shaun Maloney have reached a STALEMATE over contract talks[IMG]

The SPFA Young player of the year has NOT committed himself to signing a new deal and is far from certain to do so.:54:

Maloney has been kept out the hoops team in recent weeks due to a combination of injury and then the Excellent form of Adien McGeady.

Young Shaun would prefer to put the issue of a new deal on the BACK-BURNER before making a decision on his long-term future.

Celtic are desprate to tie down the talented Scotland international on a new long-deal as soon as possible because his current one expires at the end of the season!!
But for now the TWO parties have reached an impasse and a deal which Hoops fans had hoped would be a formality has now HIT A SNAG OVER TIMING.

Celtic boss Gordon Strachan has MADE IT CLEAR to the player and his BOARD that he see's the pint-sized attacker AS A KEY-MAN in the team.
Celtic are prepared to pay top Money in wages to KEEP Maloney. But the 23-year-old won't be rushed and if he does decide that his future lies eslewhere then the riches on offer at Parkhead will not SWAY his choice.

Maloney would be coveted by a clutch of Clubs in England and OVERSEAS should he opt to move on in the Months ahead!!

Wee Maloney Leaving the Bhoys,I can't see that but if he isn't playing that would pee any player off, but Shaun has got to give Young Adien Credit for keeping him out of the team cause his form this season has been awesome.

If Maloney DID decide to move I bet MON might want to bring Maloney to Aston Villa,Cause I don't know if a lot of people know this but in January 2007Shaun Maloney COULD LEAVE CELTIC FOR NOTHING!! just like Liam Miller did in January-2005 when he signed a Pre-contract with Manchester-United(Judas!!)I'm Hoping Maloney wouldn't do that cause the lad has came through the ranks at Celtic and I think he loves it at Celtic but once again MONEY could be the problem but not many clubs could offer Maloney Champions-League Football EVERY-SEASON.

Personaly I'm 100% sure he'll be a bhoy for the next 5 years -easy!!!

If he knows what's good for him he'll sign, he's been an excellent talent and for everything that celtic has done for him, i think its his duty to sign and show his loyalty imho

It's not his duty and we all really know he could easily turn his back and possibly earn more money but I hope to * we keep him. He is a smashing player.

The reality is that lots of people invest in businesses and when a top employee has contractual negotiations, even though he may have been treated well, his first and main concern is himself and he has no duty to anyone.

All I'm saying is don't take it for granted that Maloney should sign. Lets just hope they come to a good agreement and he signs a long contract.

Maloney is stalling so he'll get played, sounds a small bit like throwing the rattle out of the pram or whatever the phrase is

Maloney though does have the talent and has produced consistently over a season especially last year whereas Miller played a handful of games and jumped ship when the offers came in.

why would he want to go to astin villa with MON, he was never concidered good enough to play regularly for the first team by him(even in his last season when thompson was rotton). Maloney is a smart guy im sure he will make the right decision n become a BHOY FOR LIFE

He would want to go to play in a much better league with better opponents and try to better himself as a player.

But i think everyone knows his best option is to stay at Celtic - - Just Now

I feel there has been an improvement in the dealings of The Board, Lawwell, and I include the majority shareholder, these current Maloney talks I feel will be a another challenge for those running the club, I think a good conclusion will occur, but I hope he does sign, for Maloney in my opinion is good enough to get a good contract south of the border, and in the EPL.

Maloney wont do a liam miller , mark my works the lads got more sense than that ffsk ...also wheres liam miller now ? was dwindling in leeds reseves for a time last time i saw him , and now signed for the MIGHTY sunderland so the grass aint always greener south of the border as founded... whats all the rush to sign his deal anyway ... people seem to be forgetting all of a sudden.. we have one of the most shrewd buisnessmen ever at our club in the form of peter lawwell ?... maloneys deal is mere formality compared to what lawwells buisness sense is . and i also expect to be pleasantly shocked in january again.
