    * the british army and ACAB? if they weren´t people like you would be sitting home afraid to go out of the door, because there´s no one to protect you if your brainless speech is bringing you into unwanted physical trouble. :bbpd:

if they are so keen on protesting they should do it out with Celtic Park, it's got nothing to do with Celtic.

Celtic Football Club, is a FOOTBALL CLUB nothing less nothing more. If you have issues with poppy's do it somewhere else. :bbpd:

As a serving member of the armed forces I disagree strongly with the GB - however I agree with everybody's right to their own opinion, a right which was defended by our forefathers.
how someone can call a poppy bloodstained and then sing songs about the RA is beyond belief, you need to grow the * up!
Oh and by the way I was going to CP to stand in the jungle when this crowd were still in nappies!

    Yet more double standards.

What does the modern day symbolism of the red poppy have to do with Celtic ?

My brother was badly injured fighting for this country and he was given a free holiday with spending money for him and his partner which he would never be able to afford himself from an army charity.

More than half of the gb are just sheep following others.

Fair enough mate, I remember when I was in Belfast, 2 engineers drove down the wrong street and got captured and beheaded, I can't forgive that either, so no harm to ya :50:

It's times like that I think freedom of speech should be licensed mate! (what your replying on, not your post BTW)

Thing is, if Celtic hadn't released the statement about not allowing them to be sold, there would have been no banner, they are tools just trying to get a shock!

THEY WERE NOT BEHEADED MATE. THAT IS LIES.remember it was the funeral of those executed in gibraltar. who were unarmed at the time.see ITVs DEATH ON THE ROCK.a very sad day in belfast's history.i was there at the funeral.this is a reason why the poppy should never be worn, WHY WERE THOSE TWO YOUNG MEN ALOUD TO BE IN WEST BELFAST ON THE DAY OF THE FUNERAL.this has never been answered.

Yeah, I put I'd have done it differently. I don't mean to sit on the fence but I agree with the anti-British army sentiment. Yet, I felt it was a bit disrespectful to the soldiers in the world wars and that.

Like many people have already said I agree with the sentiment, but the way they went about it was a poor show.

I won't be wearing a poppy again this year and this is why:

I would wear a poppy if it wasn't so militarised. That may sound stupid to some people here, but relatives of mine have died in WW1 and WW2. They weren't British nationalists, they were Welsh nationalists and they certainly didn't want to pick up a gun, let alone shoot people. But they were draffted and to avoid jail or being branded by others they went to war and died.

People like my great uncle Hywel didn't die for King and country, he died because he had no other choice. I will be paying respect to him on the 11th, and the thousands that were in a similar situation.

But these days I feel wearing the poppy shows support for the British Armed Forces and their illegal campaigns. I just can't do that. It goes against everything I believe in.

However I will not be protesting at the top of my voice and letting everybody know my views. November 11th is a special day for many people. Just because I don't comemorate it as such doesn't mean I have the right to ruin it for those people that value it.

Sad that this issue has detracted from an awesome display on the pitch
