Have just taken this from red cafe - there is no place for * like this in the game, either side of the border. :47: :47: :47:

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

I took my young lad in the Stretty last night and we were surrounded by a good few Celtic fans and their familes, all good guys, no trouble just a load of friendly banter. As soon as they scored they were all up and cheering, which maybe they should have thought twice about, but you can't really blame them. Next thing, there's some big * grock of ours trampling over a few seats, and people, trying to get at one of these Celtic fellas. I and a few others told him to sit down and just got a load of abuse, and then the dirty * just starts spitting at all the Celtic fans, hitting a few of our lot in the process. The stewards got him out eventually, but it spoilt the whole game and atmoshphere for me and I couldn't wait to get home.

I'm no angel, I seen a few a bad things on the terraces in my time, but none as dirty as that to just normal punters.

I've just been looking on a Celtic forum to see if there were any other problems, and it seems there was...

    man ure are scum

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just back from Manc land. Sitting in the East Stand. Me and the Mrs had some banter with some man ure fans before the match started, but as soon as JVOH scored they all turned on us. Calling us * b******s etc. Some a****** then punched me on the back of the head when their penalty went in. When they scored their second, some scumbag b******s jumped rows just to tell us to get to f*** and scream general obsenity's in our faces. There was a few mancs asking if we were ok and telling us to ignore them.

At half time, after standing for the whole of the first half ( no one sat at all in the whole stand) we went to the pie stalls and every second person we passed, were calling us dirty scottish * b******s spitting on us. etc. Met lots of other celts fans who were complaining to the stewards and police, who had been punched, kicked and spat on during the first half and at half time.

Advised to leave the stadium 20 mins into the second half by the police as they could not do anything to help us. I think Celtic should consider telling the manc b******s to shove any testimonials for their players right up there arses.

I hate to say this, as i'm not a moron, but if any mancs sit near me (and i hope they don't) in the home leg i will not be very ho-spit-able, in fact i'll give the manc b******s abuse and try to intimidate the b******s the same way the did to me and my MRS. I'm f***ing ragin.

    TOTAL SCUM.

That's a shocking story mate, got a taste for it myself last night!

We were behind the goal in the Man U end. Had a zipper on to cover the Hoops and did not dare take it off. First goal went in and we jumped and cheered a bit but so many others did the same and we were on edge of passageway so not many noticed us. We saw the reaction so just kept really quiet the rest of the game and had to stay silent for Naka's goal!!

Maybe there's a point about being in the 'Home' end but it's seems to be ok when we are down for testimonials lining their player's pockets. Just show's how false their so-called hospitality was before.

For me, the so-called Celtic-Man U relationship no longer exists. I sat amongst Liverpool fans for the UEFA cup match a few years ago when we drew 0-0 and had nothing but friendly banter and no threatening behaviour. Last night. the atmosphere when we dared score against the mighty and superior man utd just turned into hatred. They can't handle a beating....or even just a goal against them!

At the final whistle I couldn't resist unzipping my top to reveal the hoops. Making my way towards the exit, one guy frothing at the mouth almost pointed into my chest and said 'What the f*** is that'. I didn't rise to it but bear in mind this is after they won.

Hope we pump them at Celtic park!

I think formal complaints should be made. The police advised Celtic supporters that they couldnt help them. WHAT A LOAD OF *. if that reaction from the police and stewards are true, i'd be taking to their superiors. If no joy there, go to their superiors. I'd keep doing it until I got some satisfaction that something would be done to prevent that happening again

Agreed dempsey - no need for it and then to be let down by the powers that be is just the icing on the cake.

There are other stories on the cafe of most cetlic supporters having a great night and some good honest banter with other reds, so i hope the above stories will be minimal.

Its also OT's tickets office fault as they shouldn't have sold home tickets to celtic fans, i realize that its ok during testimonials ect... but not a competitive game.

Was there not something on our official site saying that any celtic fan wearing colours in the Man u area would be kicked out so i dont think that happened Dempsey ...More like Utd fans selling their tickets at an inflated price to our fans .....Lets hope the police in Glasgow are better prepared

Thats prety shocking Manc-red,there is always a few * morons about that have to spoil it for everyone.

But i hav to say if there are any reds sitting amongst us i would expect all Celtic fans to keep the reputation we hav as the best fans in the world, and treat them hospitably and respectfuly.

Any chance you could post some reaction to what that guy was saying, or summerize what the general feeling is?

I think Celtic fans need a reality check.
When I lived at home I thought we were the best fans in the world and everyone should welcome us the way we welcome fans of other clubs. But it doesn't work like that.

I've been in England more than ten years and believe me, the majority of fans DON'T LIKE US. A guy tried to knife me at a West Brom game because I had a Celtic t-shirt on. Calling me a * *.
Why, do you ask? Maybe it's something to do with the morons who sing IRA and FTQ and hold Palestinian and Iraq banners? They are the minority too but that's the image we portray.

    * fuckwits come with English football, it's a disease down here and it's never going away. We have to get used to the fact that we are NOT liked in England, and we shouldn't be sitting in the away ends at games. If you can't get a ticket, watch it at home or in the pub.
I also wish the club would stop whoring us out for testimonials because when it comes to a competitive match, the true colours come out.

I acknowledge that i dont know the entire story, but wearing Celtic colours in the Man Utd area doesnt mean that police and stewards should ignore someone's safety and the only way to solve it is for the Celtic supporter to leave. Sorry, I dont find that acceptable

the general feeling is that whoever caused the hoops fans the aggro were bang out of line and don't deserve to following a club lie utd, who has a massive. multi-cultural worldwide following. and we are sorry for those celtic fans that had their night spoiled.

But as BigAl says, you are looked upon as any other normal rival fan and to sit in the home support will cause aggro for you. there is a celtic supporter currently posting on redcafe called Anna Livia who say's that you as fans need to realise you are not as loved all all over the world as you think you are. don't know if thats true or not but my personal opinion is that you are rival supporters and come the competitive fixtures should not be sat with the home support.

i had a quick look on that site and its dead, hence the reason why he's probably plugging it on here - if you want to talk with clowns gon red-issue if you want honest good banter/chat go on red cafe where other rival fans post as well as salt of the earth reds :50:

I was at Old Trafford on Wednesday night and where as we enjoyed some banter with Man Utd fans in the city centre, we got out taxis at the ground and a group of about 15-20 Man Utd fans ran and attacked us. I was only punched on the face.

I reported this to the police and they basically told me to go into the ground and forget about it. Only when I mentioned that if it had been Celtic fans who made the attacks they would be quickly in about it and chasing Celtic supporters all over the street that they agreed to take my details but told me it was likely no action would be taken.

I agree with you Dempsey what im trying to say is The Official celtic view is that anyone wearing celtic colours in other areas of the ground risk being ejected .Now this didnt happen obviously so where do you portion the blame ??
The stewards for not ejecting them (after all they were warned)
The Police for turning a blind eye
The man u fans for selling their tickets ??

I agree that the police and stewards ignoring someones safety is no acceptable

Well if the stewards allow them to sit there, i think they've probably ignored protocol but are still responsible for those people's safety just as much. They should have called over more stewards or police to watch potential flashpoint areas. There are plenty of cameras in Old Trafford to watch for hooligans aswell

Some pretty shocking stories, but Celtic have their share of idiots as well.
The guy in front of me at CP tried fighting with a Scouser sat behind us for the UEFA cup game when Owen scored.
The guys a total scumbag, and it's not the first time I've had verbals with him, a few others round about me have even had a punching match with him.
The Scouser was a good guy, we were having plenty of banter with him, but one * spoilt it and the guy never returned after half time.
The fact is that every club has their minority of scum, the relationship between Man U and Celtic has been good so far because we've not played them competatively. Man U are my second team, but on Wednesday I had no split loyalties, I hope both Celtic and Man U qualify, but first and foremost I only care about Celtic's progression.
Hopefully there won't be any comeback when the teams play at CP, Celtic's fans have won praise for their support over the years, it would be a shame to step backwards, we just need to rise above it.

Home and away ends are there for a reason. If you have the bottle to go and sit in with the oppositions fans then you risk whatever may follow and only have yourself to blame. I pay my good money for my seat at CP and I dont want to have a fan or group of fans jumping and celebrating the other teams goal round about me. Especially in big games as I get very annoyed when things are not going our way, and the last thing you want is the opposition rubbing it in. I suspect that is the case for most fans so I suggest that if you want to avoid the chance of trouble dont sit with the opposition.
