Loovens Or Hooiveld ?

Is this the same Hoiveld who "talks a good game in the paper" ?

6 wins out of 6 with Loovens - so why change it. The titanic moved quicker than Hoiveld the last time i seen him.

 

Loovens is capable of having a good game. Hooiveld's one of the worst defenders I've seen at Celtic.

 

I would pick hooiveld over glenda but would have rogne over both of them.

Why do use think lennon is not picking rogne??
His young age maybe...??

 

i agree with this. it's working the way it is so just leave it. let glenda get a few games and develop a partnership with majic mountain and all will be well.........i hope

 

Loovens is just slighly better than Hooiveld, imo

 

both are rubbish come january must go out and spend big on a cb,which he should have done in the summer,i really worry about this defence in the of games

There are many people out here who take Rogne rather than these 2. But on what ground do you guys think that? Rogne didnt play that much in the hoops. Can you tell me some matches he really impressed you? Please note im not AGAINST Rogne, but i'd like to know your arguments...

Ontopic: I actually dont want to pick one of them. They are both pish and we need a new CB very fast. But in this situation, Id pick Loovens. He is more experienced

 

Although Rogne has been excellent in the very short time we've seen him, he's not done nearly enough to convince me he should start every game, really need to see more of him.

I'd have to pick Hooiveld over Loovens. Again, not seen enough of Hooiveld either but his past reports at the clubs he's been at are excellent, surely there's a good defender in there somewhere. At least there's still hope of Hooiveld being a decent defender for us, with Loovens, he's had enough chances.

 

I have my doubts about Hooiveld. He wasnt good enough for SC Heerenveen, went to a lower league of Austria (SV Kapfenberg) and had to leave there also because he wasnt good enough! Went to Scandinavia then and played a few good years at topclubs. But topclubs in leagues like Finland are maybe Coca Cola league 1 level or Championship lower teams level I think. And after those good years he played over there, he is now Celtic level? I have my doubts.....

 

Bare in mind he did play at LB (not his favour position) before he went to Inter Turku.

As I've said before since he moved to Inter Turku and has used as a CB all the time hes been outstanding;

2 League medals, 2 cup medals playing almost every game in 2 years
2 Defender of the Year awards
1 Player of the Season Award
Voted MVP in his first season at Inter Turku
16 clean sheats in 26 games
AIK Manager describing him as an "icon" after one season.


Again, as I've said before his performances last season were forced, he was injured at the time. Hes not been fully fit when hes played for Celtic yet.


Hooiveld is a much better player than Loovens and a cracking CB.



As for all this "play Rogne" nonsense. How many people have actually seen him play a full 90 minutes?

Aye, he seems like a good player from what I've seen in the reserves/development squad, but if he cant last 90 minutes at CB hes no use. Hes been playing pro for 3 years and has been out injured for 2. Again, as I've said before loan him out to a first division team and if he can make it through the season give him a run,

 

loovens cant be that bad if hes got in the holland team before!

 

My pecking order goes Danny-Jos-Rogne-Loovens in order of how complete a CB they are.

Rogne is still young and may not have that read of the game that Danny or Jos has. Loovens is mistake prone.

However, as Rogne is just coming off injury and Jos and Danny or both real slow, I can see why Lenny has played Glen in there. Glen has a bit more speed than them and has helped cover for Maj's lack of speed at times. So tactically this setup has worked so far in the league.

Jos is gonna have to wait for a mess up by Loovens to get his chance again because we have been so tight at the back in the league.

 

Disagree, think we have a cracking defender on our hands, his fitness is a major concern but if fit looks very composed on the ball and reliable.

I really wanted Jos to be a success but looked out of his depth in europe.

 

I'd rather just start the game with 10 men.

 

Rogne would start over both of them i think tho if i had to pick between them to id prob say loovens

 

id like hovield to get back to full strengh think him and the big swede will be great together

where does everyone get rogne from? yes he is worth a shot but it is just typical of everyone on here to jump on the bandwagon! hes looked decent in a couple of games but thats it. i heard the same stuff pre season about jos and how great he will be when he is back but he is awfull ! loovens isnt much better but he is definetly better than hoiveld. if he was half as good as he makes himself out to be then he might have a chance. as i said before it only takes a sniff of a good game from a player and everyone on here thinks he is the best player in the world ! lets see him when he getshis chance and actually plays a few games in a row. lennon failed big time in the summer when he didnt get another centre half in. back to the thread though, loovens or jos thens its definetly loovens any day of the week.
