The only way McCourt can get match fit is if he starts getting 90 minutes under his belt on a regular basis. I see Kilmarnock on Sunday as the ideal place to start. We could fit him in easily if we played Kayal and Juarez sitting and Forrest on the right, Maloney in behind the striker and Provisional Patrick on the left :icon_mrgreen:

Edit : Managed to forget about Ledley.

If he has the engine, I would definitely be starting him.

However, he clearly doesn't in my opinion. So we've got the choice of starting him and then bringing him off when he tires and fades out the game, resulting in him barely tracking back and leaving us in all sorts of trouble. Otherwise, we could bring him on towards the end, when teams are tiring and that's when he's known to do the most damage.

    Super-sub for me.

I think he could play the whole game and be 100% effective, many people say he couldn't.

Definite starter, worth the price of a season ticket alone to watch the derry pele waltz past 2,3,4,5 - take your pick - players and slam the ball into the pokey.

Massive impact player, he is short of the engine and the defensive abilities for 90 mins ATM.

    Paddys 26/27, not 37 FFS

Who wants to sit on the bench?

He will get his chance, its up to him to take it.

starter. derry pele must have the respect and faith of the support and the gaffer. i'm sure he'll get a run out in the cup competitions if he doesn't get a look in the league

:50:Bang on, i think we would have a few players who feel they should start and warrant a start , he can pull off the amazing at times , but ive seen him get caught with the ball when there is a pass on and sometimes he try to do too much! dont get me wrong love him , but i get a feeling that if he wasnt called Paddy and from Derry there would'nt be this Paddy love in where he is compared to Messi and only the good he does is seen (complete opposite for other players ie. Sammy) , maybe it just me :52:

i went supersub , but lenny see them all at training so he know the score!

I voted starter but I also like him as a super sub, maybe a mixed role

give him a run in the team for 4 or 5 games and see if that helps with his stamina and see how does when he has a little run in the team if he performs well keep him in

Lenny has to start any player who earns it, just like paddy has now but if he doesnt put the full shift in back to super sub role.

I´d start Forrest and have Paddy coming on after 65 mins by which point Forrest has terrorised their full back into exhaustion!

In saying that we´ll need to manage Forrest sensibly this season given his age.

definite starter for me.the only way he is going to improve his match fitness is playing from the start.he will only get better and more comfortable on the ball if that is possible!!!falkirk in the cup last season was a lesson in total football by paddy from start to finish!!the guy has to start!!!!
